Power of Giving and Receiving

in #power6 years ago

I yesterday stole to read one of my children's collection books. The title is "The Most Beautiful Gift", which is the first series of Chicken Soup for the Soul Graphic Novel, a collection of real stories that are written in comic form. There is one interesting story for me:

Once upon a time, there was a teenager named Clark, who would one night watch a circus with his father. When he arrived at the counter, Clark and his father queued behind a group of large families consisting of Mr., Mrs. and 8 of their children. The family looked happy that night to watch the circus. From the conversation heard by Clark and his father, Clark knew that the 8th father of the child had been extra work to be able to invite his children to watch the circus that night. However, when he arrived at the counter and was about to pay, the face of the father of 8 children looked pale. It turned out that the 40 dollar money that had been collected with difficulty, was not enough to pay for tickets for 2 adults and 8 children whose total cost was 60 dollars.

The husband and wife whispered to each other, how to tell their children that night they canceled watching the circus because the money was lacking. While the children looked so happy and could not wait to get into the circus. Suddenly Dad greet Mr Clark had 8 children and said: "Sorry sir, this money was falling out of the pocket of Mr.", craning sheet 20 dollars and winked at her. The father of 8 children was amazed by what Clark's father did. With tears in his eyes, he received the money and thanked Clark's father, and stated how much of the 20 dollars meant to his family. Tickets worth 60 dollars paid. And happily, the big family immediately entered the circus.

After the group entered, Clark and his father immediately rushed home. Yes, they canceled watching the circus, because Clark's money was given to Mr. 8 children. That night, Clark was very happy. He can't watch the circus. But I have witnessed two great fathers.

The story above reminds me of the power of giving. The Power of Giving. More precisely "Giving and Receiving". Because giving and receiving is an inseparable whole. From the story above, there are two happiness that occur in giving activities. That is happiness for the recipient, and at the same time the happiness that the giver receives. Father of 8 children who were "saved" by his father Clark, of course at that time will feel very happy. But Clark's own father also felt very extraordinary happiness.

The power of giving (and receiving) is so powerful because it is the essence of the universe itself. It is not excessive if Deepak Chopra in 7 Spiritual Law of Success lists "Law of Giving" as the second law for success. The universe goes according to the circulation of giving and receiving. Let's look. In all natural phenomena, the law of giving and receiving runs. Humans breathe oxygen, and exhale carbon dioxide, while plants, using carbon dioxide in photosynthesis, liberate oxygen.

The process of giving and receiving, makes everything in the universe run, flow. People in ancient times seemed to understand this very much. For example money, currency, in English is called currency, the root of which is Latin currere which means to flow.

The most frequently asked question is: What should I give? The answer is the same as the question: what do you want to get? If you want to get love, give love, if you want knowledge, spread knowledge, if you want money, then give money. Yes, this is in accordance with the principle of giving and receiving above, what flows out of you is what will flow back to you. The universe follows this law. Even flowing back to you, is always greater than that which flows out of you, because the universe is far greater than you! So if you want a lot of money, give money. Some people ask, then what if your money isn't much? Wow, then you need to give more, hehehe ...

If giving is not a habit, there are actually a number of tips that you can apply. God willing, if carried out regularly, will strengthen your giving nerves:

Wherever you go to meet someone, try to bring a gift. Whatever form the prize was. This has actually been taught by our parents in ancient times, but we often forget it. Just pay attention, our parents first visit a friend's house or you always bring souvenirs. You can also start this habit. Maybe just carrying a pack of chocolate, flowers (what do you want to know about this?), Or prayer. Yes, even if your hand is forced to empty, just give a prayer when you meet someone.

Thank you for every gift you receive today. Well, what if today I don't receive any gifts? Wrong, you must receive something from the universe. Starting from the sunny morning air, warm sunshine, friendly neighbor's greetings, even rebuke from strangers, meeting old friends you miss, and many more. Yes, certainly more concretely if suddenly today there is someone who gives you a new cellphone or new iPod. Obviously you have to be thankful for what you received.

Commit to always share what you can actually give at any time:

  • love. Maybe you laugh right away. Ah, if only love I have given every time to my family. Maybe you are right. All you have to remember is, as Stephen Covey said, Love is a verb, not a noun. That is, it must be practiced. Yes, if you already have love for the people closest to you, practice it. How many times have you hugged and rubbed your child's head in a day? And say that you love your child?
  • Laughter. This is not trivial. Laughter is an expression of happiness. Help people around you express happiness through laughter. How many times a day do you laugh? Did you know that a child laughs 150 times a day, and adults only 15 times a day. Cheer up, share laughter in your home, otherwise your child will prefer Mas Thukul to you.
  • Knowledge. You must know something better than someone. Maybe you are good at taking care of Arowana fish, share it. Are you smart in taking care of Aglonema plants? Share. You are good at cooking, writing recipes and sharing. Share your knowledge, because knowledge is a gift from the Almighty.

Many examples in this world, where people give their knowledge, and reap a lot of benefits, including in finance. Gary Craig, the inventor of the Emotional Freedom Technic technique, provides the ebook for free. Azim Jamal, a famous writer and speaker in Canada, contributed 100% of the results of his book "Power of Giving" for charity. Yes, 100%, even though originally the book can be downloaded for free in the form of an ebook, before the publisher asks Azim to stop.

I close this note with a story about the following Sufi humor:

Once there was a Sufi who had felt very close to God. One day while walking, the Sufi met a very poor person. His body was emaciated, with only skin wrapped in rags wrapped in rags. His body lay limp on the side of the road, his lips dried up, indicating that the poor had not received food for a long time. Seeing the suffering of the poor, the Sufi shouted in protest at his Lord: "Oh God, why don't you do something for this person !!". A moment later, there was an answer: "Yes! That's why I created you! "
