Steem prediction for the week
It's nice to see a Steem question at least one a week these days on Cindicator. It is still a project with so much potential and also one that is in actual use as a more than a get rich quick token or a glorified casino.
So, the question this week was whether or not Steem would rise up 8 percent against Bitcoin. I had submitted my answer before yesterday's spike in Bitcoin (and all other crypto), which means it is now a race to see if Steem or Bitcoin grows faster before Feb 16th!
Nothing like a bit of an unexpected twist to add a bit of adrenalin into an otherwise rational binary choice!
Again, I'm rocking a nice healthy positive balance on the crypto predictions, standing in the top 10 at the moment! I'm hoping I can keep my good luck running for a few more weeks!

I believe as well in the vast potential and bright future of Steem (: while we can't see see it right now in the price, I believe it's only a matter of time. Does Cindicator reward for accurate predictions on your part? What is the incentive mechanism?

Yes, Cindicator (ios, Android or webapp) keeps a tally of your weighted predictions for the month. If you have a positive balance (in the EPS, crypto or Traditional markets) at the end of the month, then you are paid out in CND tokens (ERC 20, trading on all major exchanges). It used to be ETH and BTC but they needed to close to the economic loop!
if you have negative balance of predictions, you get nothing!
Forward projections are not so easy, hope the winning streak keeps going @bengy
It's pretty tough going... a slight slip will see me plummeting in the rankings... on the other hand, it's not that serious a hobby for me!
I don't dare to make any crypto prediction. But I am hoping the direction is up!

You're betting on binary question sets? This is intriguing. Do you win more if you bet a higher or lower percentage of probability? Do they have other kinds of questions to bet on?
Yes, there are range bound questions and growth ranking type questions. For all the questions you stand to gain points for answers that come closer to the bounds/ranking or lose the same sort of points for being inaccurate.
For the binary questions, you stand to gain (or lose) a maximum of 50 points for the accuracy or not. In this case, if STEEM managed to pass the high end (+8 percent) in the alloted time, then I would gain 50 points... if not, then I lose 50 points. If I chose to make the answer 75 percent, then win/loss would be 25 points.
At the end of the month, if you hold a positive balance of points in any of the different prediction markets (EPS, crypto or traditional) then you get a payout in CND. It used to be BTC and then later ETH... which I preferred, but they have to close the economic loop!
