Good Morning Steemians!
Last night we took the boys to see Lego Movie 2, as part of their father's birthday celebrations. My husband and I planned it for a week long, waited much for yesterday to come, but that sneaky 9 yo of mine. He was using my computer and Hangout application was opened on the screen, so he could read the conversation between his father and I hahahha So I had to bribe him in a way or two, not to tell his little brother as we all know how much crazy my youngest is when it comes to Lego, the movies, the toys, the hotel, and we so wanted to surprise him by taking him to the cinema on the first day it plays.
2 days ago, we were discussing of China/Vietnam travels after watching YouTube, and plus Chinese New Year celebration, and somehow last night before we left for the cinema, my youngest thought we were going to Chinese...yep, you read correctly, Chinese. He said "I wanna go to Chinese too, Mommy". That made us all giggled. Because obviously, he thought and said it wrong.
Once my youngest learned that we were heading to the cinema as soon as we parked the car (the cinema is inside the mall, with stores, restaurants and whatnot, so it was surprising that he was guessing we were going to the cinema!), he demanded popcorn right away lol
A while back I shared how we took my youngest to the cinema for the 1st time and it was a bust. He got scared once the theater room was darkened, so we had to leave.
Last night I was worrying that would happen again, but then I thought, naaah...this is his favorite thing and he had been begging to see Lego Movie 2 after learning the trailer on YouTube, yeah we do watch YouTube a lot lol.
For sure he was not scared. He was impatient throughout commercials and whatnot, but once the room was darkened, he did not get scared, he was too busy with his popcorn and was too excited for the movie to come on screen already.
Now, come the unexpected thing.
The movie had a lot of singing! - a little spoiler, sorry. AAAAANNNNDDDD...my youngest started to stand up from his seat! He started dancing like crazy. Hands up in the air, all sorts of dance styles, and jumping too! Full of excitement. Following the rhythm. And all I could think of was someone gonna yell at us, throw a bucket of popcorn and whatnot. I was like, FUUUUUDDDDGEEEE!
As a mother I found that to be very adorable, but of course, as a customer who is not related to him at all, it could be annoying, no matter how short this little fella is that he could not have blocked anyone's view, lol.
I had to keep grabbing him down over and over again. Told him people gonna get mad, etc. That only stopped him for a bit, but whenever a song came up, up he went dancing again.
What a nightmare hahahahhaa But yeah, nobody said nothing. People were just busy with themselves. Phew!
When the movie ended, tons of songs again and audiences started to leave the theater. I let my boy dance to his heart. He was very content. He was so full of happy spirit. It was a great night for him for sure. The audiences that left slowly even cheered along when they saw him dancing lol
Howdy thekitchenfairy! lol...what a fun time, although a little frustrating and potentially embarrassing with the dancing in the theater but how cute! lol..That was a great story and it sounds like the movie is a good one.
Btw how old is your youngest?
