The president of the Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights (CENIDH), Vilma Núñez, said that a deceased was confirmed in León as a result of a paramilitary attack against demonstrators who remained in a blockade on the León-Managua highway.

"Definitely the government tried to solve by fire and blood what had been raised in the dialogue that was the dismantling of the blockades. In León, what they did was to forcibly collect all the public employees of Corinto and Chinandega to attack the residents who remained in the blockade, "Nuñez said.

I continue praying for you and yours safety💜

Thank you, my friend. We can use all the prayers we can get. This will not end well.

Thanks for the update, I've been following along, and am glad to see you are making the best of a tough situation. Kindest regards.

Thank you, @joesal. We have to do the best we can under the circumstances. There aren't too many options...

I am so sorry to see the situation continuing to deteriorate.

I do hope the international community starts to take notice soon.

Hopefully, they will. But Nicaragua is just but a small blip in the grand scheme of things.

There are many people thinking about you and following your story.... Hang on dudes!

We are doing the best we can. We have no other choice but to survive this...

I really worry about your safety. This is out of control.

It is out of control. Ortega has lost his marbles. We take as many precautions as we can to stay safe. We don't leave our compound and my son doesn't leave his house in Managua. Nothing like being a prisoner in your own home...

Its annoying the big people who are supposed to be there to protect you are letting you all down, they need to pull there socks up and get ths sorted before anyone else loses there life

He spoke yesterday about being afraid to leave his house! Takes balls! He was talking about leaving but who would want him? Then there's the little matter of what he wants in order to leave: his family and old cronies to leave too, amnesty for all, and all the money he has collected (ill-gotten gains and money stolen from the country).

Oh no @cecicastor, how do you manage to stay sane with all that going on? Where will it all end?
Prayers for all of you xx

Thank you, @lizelle. It is not easy keeping sanity and a perspective on what is happening. I don't think it will end anytime soon without outside intervention...Perhaps the UN can come up with something.

Sadly though intervention often comes when there's been way too much damage, but we pray it happens soon!

Wow, thats a real eye-opener

It is a rude awakening. You never think it could possibly happen where you live, but here we are in the middle of it.
