Rescue in the depths
As of June 23, 12 Thai children between 11 and 16 years of age, and their 25-year-old sports coach (members of a football team) were missing. All were found alive on Monday, July 2, in the cave of Tham Luang, north of Thailand. His rescue is being complicated by the rains that flooded the cave, coming to be considered that the evacuation could last for months.
In yesterday's mission, international and Thai divers have entered the cave to begin the rescue of the children. Four of them have already been recovered and are being treated in a hospital. However, divers need to replace air bottles so the operation has been suspended for at least 10 hours.
Rain of chaos
In recent days, torrential rains have caused large floods, landslides and floods in western Japan, causing serious damage to homes and their desperate families.
Officially, on Sunday, July 8, at least 21 people had been reported missing and 44 pronounced dead. About 48,000 firefighters, police and soldiers have come since yesterday for rescue operations. And, although more than two million people were ordered to evacuate, not all of them were able to leave their homes, which is why many died and others are missing.
Ritual in the jungle
This Wednesday, July 4, the Spanish Patricia Aguilar, who was missing since January 2017, was rescued. Her father Alberto Aguilar undertook an intense search process discovering that her daughter left voluntarily with Felix Manrique, leader of a religious sect, who induced her from a website dedicated to exoteric themes, when Patricia was still a minor.
Manrique persuaded her to leave her family, and the 18-year-old girl was taken to a jungle region of Peru, where she was rescued by the Peruvian police with a one-month-old baby, along with two other women and four children, malnourished and in a state of neglect. Alberto Aguilar is still awaiting the soon reunion with his daughter, who for the time being is under the tutelage of the Ministry of Women in Peru, being assisted by a reintegration program for victims of human trafficking.
