#PsychologyOfCrime🤓🔪 | Ted Bundy, the movie + Rewards 💰

This week, #PsychologyOfCrime will have a different approach to the previous ones: the next film about Ted Bundy, one of the most famous serial killers in the United States, starring Zac Efron, stole the attention of this section. The trailer definitely generated controversy in social networks due to the particular presentation of the character, which is understandable, however, has an explanation.

Probably there is not a serial killer as charismatic as Bundy, with his charm, intelligence and physical appearance managed to conquer an innumerable number of women. Ted had all the characteristics that a man could desire, although he used them for macabre purposes.

"The killer of the IQ" as he was sometimes nicknamed, murdered and raped dozens of young women. The exact number of victims is not known, but shortly before his execution he admitted to having commited 36 homicides.

The trailer generated a considerable amount of negative opinions, the most usual critic was the very natural and almost youthful movie environment, with music that only made him see as a "bad boy" or a man like any other whose dedication was based on conquer women, but it was precisely that way that Ted Bundy presented himself to the world: a normal and charming dude.

Ted Bundy in court (1).

This answer is due to how serial killer movies are presented as horror films, creating a kind of grotesque caricature about the murderer and spreading a stereotype where the serial killer is a person with little communication with the world and a failure in every way, notwithstanding the reality is that many of them have been socially functional people camouflaging themselves very well in society.

Presenting this trailer in that way was quite risky, but still achieved the real goal: to show a seemingly normal man becoming a monster, trying to manipulate those around him, including the justice system, and even within this introduction you can see brushstrokes of Bundy's narcissism and egocentrism.

Now tell us what you think: Did you like the trailer? How do you think the movie will be?
