2018 has been a very 'interesting year' for crypto in general and as the crypto scene sets its path towards 'Institutional investors' and we see moves in The USA towards establishing a uniform 'Code of conduct' for business practices within the crypto scene it without any doubt that I can say how we are at a turning point in crypto and blockchain technology.

There is no doubt in my mind that both crypto and blockchain technology shall become household terms in the coming years.

After having followed @Promo-Steem and the @Steem-Ambassador project from very early on and only getting on board mid this year, I have seen potential for this initiative to grow and even branch out.

When hearing about @oracle-d and looking into it, this was definitely something that confirmed my visions of Promo-Steem and the Steem-ambassador project growing and branching out, spreading roots for Steem in many more ways than just on our Steem blockchain. Definitely something that I am enjoying as a Steemian.

Definitely all the inspiration needed for any of us with the vision of where Steem can be and making Steem become the dream!

Which brings me to the part where I openly share some ideas that have been bouncing around in my head and that could help decentralize and further expand these projects all over the world, all in the name of making Steem a household name!

One of the things that I have noticed is that on the World Wide Web aka “The Internet” there is so much room and opportunity to make things happen for any blockchain. I dare say that with all the various blockchains and cryptocurrencies doing their own individual thing on the internet we as Steemians and as members of Promo-Steem/Steem-ambassadors have an advantage as far as opportunities go.

How so?

Well, if we use what I believe most people use when searching the internet, good old Google Search and simply type in the words “ crypto along with the name of the country/nation we are a part of” we can see that there are only a few portals out there that actually show up that are unique for that nation/country.

Funnily enough, one like myself would have thought that there would be hundreds if not thousands of sites that are country specific, yet after researching this part of the market, it is clear that crypto is still at a very early stage and that this little, yet enormous part of the market hasn’t been tapped into as what one would have expected it to have been!

Which brings me to one of the two ideas I am going to present here and which I am actually working on myself.

A site that I have online is called www.STEEMAUSTRALIA.org and it is exactly what I detailed out in the above abbreviated intro to this idea.

Imagine if Steem-Ambassadors put up sites which incorporate the name STEEM and the name of their country or continent, use tags and backlinks which are all lead to crypto and the geographical region, hence over a longer period of time, with regular news/posts and updates and links that are both crypto and Steem related start showing up on the first page of a persons Google search for the words “crypto & name of country/nation”!

Surely, this isn’t a short term project and as such needs to be done in a step by step process.
We all know that the search engines out there are no ‘dummies’, they have code in place to detect those who “cheat” via various SEO programs.

However, do we need those types of programs to make this happen?

I dare say, we do not need to be overly concerned about this as we have all the tools already in place.

What tools?

First and foremost we have Steemit.com, which has excellent SEO tools already in place and every time a post gets shared onto this platform with a backlink to a website, you can be sure that it is registered by the bulk of the ‘name brand’ search engines out there.

Then we have Steempress, an excellent plugin which hooks up any site that is built on the Wordpress platform directly to our Steem blockchain.

Simply install the plugin and ‘Bobs your uncle’, automatically posting to the listed user account on Steem!

OK This is all clear, but what “advantage” do we have?

Well, if we go about our business in a purely organic manner and don’t “cheat” then we are very dependent upon various factors out there that the search engines ‘look for’.

One of these is ‘backlinks’ and if we have an international network of independent sites out there, run by members of Promo-Steem we have the luxury of adding simple little footers on each and every post, listing all the relevant sites. Hence adding backlinks who knows how many times per day and boosting each others ratings in the search engines faster than any stand alone “crypto” site out there.

Of course this won’t do it all on its own and that is where Steemit.com via Steempress comes into it with its already established SEO tools!

Yes, we can help get the name of our blockchain and our crypto onto the first pages of any search for crypto simply by networking our efforts and all it takes is for each site to interlink links on posts!

Ok, I may have oversimplified it a bit, but that is the gist of things and without going into all the details out there it is clear that we have an advantage as a team of Steemians all working together as individuals and as active members and ambassadors of Steem!

I can see STEEM showing up on the first page of any search for “crypto” in one to two years without having to cheat the system with who knows what all not SEO programs out there, as we have all the foundations to make it happen naturally with daily work from a network of people here in Promo-Steem.

Why do this?

Seriously, I shall only say one thing:

How many times have you searched the internet for something and clicked on a link that showed up on the first page of your search results?

Again, this is just an idea and the potential is there, the opportunity is there, the market is open and waiting for it to happen. All it takes is a few devoted people, from various parts of this world, from various countries to do their thing and to get this happening!

Enough about that idea, I’ll leave it out there for people to think about and to hopefully get inspired enough to go ahead and embark on this long term project.

What is the second idea that I had?

Tbh, it isn’t anything spectacular, but it is sometimes the little things that can help promote a project and team of people.

We’ve all seen the Steemit Board and most if not all of us have checked it out.

Why am I mentioning the Steemit Board?

Well, the idea that I had/have is for all us active members of Promo-Steem to all pitch in a little, to cover the costs of getting a ‘Steemit Board Badge’ made up that can be handed out to members by the founders of Promo-Steem.

Sure it may not sound like anything major, but when someone looks at your Steemitboard and sees the Promo-Steem/Steem-Ambassador badge, there is a good chance that they may get a little intrigued by it. As the old saying “Curiosity killed the cat”!

Marketing Promo-Steem among Steemians is something that is extremely important and onboarding people into the project is just as important as getting new people to sign up on Steem.

In fact, we are now at a point in which it is clear as to who all is here for the long haul of things and who all was here just for a “quick buck”. So if there was ever a time to get ourselves moving forwards on our own marketing and promotions among the ranks of our fellow Steemians, I believe it is NOW!

Sure this badge isn’t a solution to everything, but it sure can be a nice little addition to our project and it definitely can’t hurt!

Again, just a simple little idea that only takes us existing members to pitch in a little each to make something new that shall be used on the long haul of things during our endeavours to promote Steem.
