Way back in the 3rd quarter of 2017, I was a 5th year engineering student that time when we started to organize campus meetups. Along with my Steemit classmates, we got the idea of promoting the platform to our university. Our reason are very simple and direct to the point - make Steemit as the social media platform for students.

One great reason for promoting Steemit is that the platform rewards our content. You earn from the content that you share unlike the existing social media giants Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter which only provide the services and technology and monopolize the advertisement rewards.

This campaign has become a vocal topic to the university. When they know that we're earning from the platform we are promoting, they joined the meetup/orientation/seminar that we organized for the welfare of the new users. They joined the planned event we are spreading which all they need to do is their participation. We've prepared everything including the snacks for them.

We are truly thankful to the Steemit community for helping us to raise funds for the Shirt printing, flyers, steemit pins, and plackards which we gave them all for free. All of the cost during the event were fully funded by Steem from the Steemit community. One big Steemian that I'm thankful of was @donkeypong who were the very reason of raising the amount of the event. I'm truly thankful for him for silently supporting community building initiatives.

I'm sharing some of the photos we conducted during our stint at our university where a lot of Steemians actually joined. Right now, we already graduated and it feels great. Finally, we have completed our studies.

The problem during that time was that the registration becomes a real problem. It takes long time, around 2-3 weeks before an account gets approved. You are lucky if you'll get approved within 3 days but normally it will go beyond that.

Still thankful to the platform for providing a lot of students opportunity to earn while spending our time online. Also, we're thankful because we've learned a lot and that we became very open into exploring blockchain technology and its potential to decentralize the world.
