Hollop Hollop... Something big is about to happen. Yes, big with a lot of impact!

Tomorrow, 11th of July, 2018 the great stemng community will be meeting at the Lekki Conservation Centre as the first ever official meeting of this great community, a sub-community of the fabulous steemSTEM community.

Don't worry, I'm not planning to keep you in the dark. I'm sure gonna break it down and give you the details in bit.

OK, let's go.

It was some few months ago, some few days to the end of January that I overheard @rharphelle and @adetola talking about how they made some science post that earned them some cash. Being a college student, always finding means to get some cash into my pockets, I enquired further to know how it run. I was mesmerized at the details and how great a platform such as steemit is.

I continued to ask questions and questions till I finally got in myself, posting my first post and the subsequent ones.

Being a writer and a part-time blogger, I find steemit new to my ears, as I've published numbers of works only to get my voice heard. But then, when a platform that would not only help me air my voice but also reward me exists.. Why not try it out.

That was how it started.. But, I can assure you that that changed immediately after I got into the STEEMSTEM community and more in-depth relating directly with the Nigerian community.

OK. What do I mean?

Being a Poet, I started my journey posting few poems but later on as I started exploring the #stemng and #steemstem tags as directed by @rharphelle so as to get familiar with the community, reading posts from @churchboy and @greenrun, I got mesmerized at how good writing science could be as each time I learn something new in the field in a well-crafted style with a lot of humor infused in it. But, was it just about writing freely or just about anything? No, there are guidelines, and expected rules to follow.

And this was what the steemstem community gave me.

Before my journey with the steemstem community, I never knew about creative commons and public domain images, I would always think so far an image is on the net, it is free to use. More than this, I learnt about crafting a post from researching from sources and merging it together in my words to make a relatable piece.

I was taught how to format a post in an eye-catching structure allowing for good readability and clarity to readers.

It has so far been an eye opener with the community in terms of knowledge gains and skills earned.

So, what really is steemstem and stemng?

@Steemstem is a community on steemit that rewards authors that write original and quality posts in the S-science, T- technology, E- engineering and M-math fields. They through the effort of the management team, honor members and curators find quality posts with the #steemstem tag and reward them accordingly.

@Stemng is thus a child community of steemstem which is designated for Nigerian authors. So, using the #stemng tag tells you're from Nigeria and your works would be watched out for by the Nigerian curators in persons of @greenrun and @gentleshaid who both, have been like fathers to us in the community.

So far, the emergence of the stemng server on discord, the bond between Nigerian stem authors has inclined as we have built relationships beyond posting and reading others posts. With great personalities like @Rharphelle, @amazonaesh, @addempsea, @sogless, @Adetola, @real2josh, @agbona, @kingabesh, @samminator, @florae, @funmiakinpelu, @steepup, @olajidekehinde, @humbledeen @horpey @michealwrites, @lawkay @ibk-gabriel @pangoli and a host of many others around, we have become brothers & sisters, throwing banters without cautions like mates, jibing each others and working together on bettering each other, anyone would be willing to be a part.

Enough of the sweet talks. Why not come to join us yourself.. Why not come to have a feel of the relationship we've built. Ask people like @herbayomi @writeit, @teekingtv @synick @rareghost @Emperorhassy and a host of new members integrating into the family like they have been around like forever.

and now, I can't wait to finally meet these beautiful minds!
