SteemBird - Steemit Promotion Ideas with @dan-atstarlite
After having an amazing 2.5 hour converstation with @dan-atstarlite about steemit we decided that it was time to do a summary video so you guys got to hear what we were talking about without having to listen to us for too long. We aimed for a 5 minute video, but it ended up at 15 minutes, however, all very interesting stuff!
Dan makes up half of the @steembirds duo who are amongst the most talented singer / songwriters on steemit. After having seen them live at steemfest doing their quirky catchy tunes about steemit, I am honored to have been approached by Dan regarding how he can get involved in promoting steemit.

In our chat Dan discusses his ideas about how to promote steemit as follows:
1) Steemit @openmic tour
Dan wants to approach bars and universities who do open mics and live music nights to do his amazing performances in conjunction with promo-steem in order to promote steemit! This will give us lots of great content with wihich to make viral videos and hopefully lead to the world's first live stream live music event on a blockchain... :) Please support his Open-mic tour which he plans to do this 2018 summer!
2) Steemit Initiation Programme to Improve User Retention
How do we send new sign ups through an series of blogs that they can write themselves, where by doing so they can learn what the true potential of steem is. Learning by doing! Having completed the steem initiation blog series the new steemian will fully understand what steem is and have the foundations to become a model steemian! The hope is that this will improve retention rates!
3) Testing / Improving our On-Boarding Process at a University / Town
We need to find out what the best method is for onbaording - how can we hit a location with promo-steem and leave a lasting impression such that when we leave the steemit bug spreads on its own?

Really happy about this! certainly MORE than happy to discuss with our team and you. I am sure we can harness the promo steem community / ambassadors to attend such open mic events and help out / discuss steem with the audiences / answer the difficult questions, as they do this type of thing all the time any way with their promo work.

We've been discussing some of these ideas since before SteemFest2 & have been steadily working towards the fruition of a both a test run and a summer tour schedule.
It would be absolutely amazing to have other steemians joining us along the way whether they'd be meeting up with us in their respective cities, or tagging along somehow.
I firmly believe that there is a lot that can be accomplished by combining all the aspects of our super steemit powers!
Promo-Steem, SteemBirds & OpenMic would be an invaluable force for promo and retention IMO.

I don't know you that well @starkerz and I guess I don't really know @dan-atsterlite that well either though I did meet him and sing with him at SteemFest!
He as well as his other half of the @steembirds is an awesome dude!
I love and appreciate anyone who is really promoting Steemit and the truly revolutionary potential of Steem!
With that being said I don't know anyone who is promoting Steem more than I with every post and making it look good!

Has there been any talk about (or maybe it already exists) an interface that connects Steemit to your email contacts to easily invite all or selected friends to join
Steemit with a message that so-and-so has invited you to join Steemit...? Or is that kind of thing old-school?
This is a great suggestion! Have you spoken to @gold84 on this? He has lots of great suggestions for additional features to the steemit interface! He has managed to get the ears of a lot of top steemians, and I’m sure he could help u take this forwards!

This was something I proposed a few months ago, and what I know is that @timcliff added this idea as an important change on the 2018 Steemit Roadmap. Tim Cliff is one of the most renknowned people on steemit and he is been called as the voice of the community. He is doing massive efforts from the early beginnings of the platform to make Steemit a better place every day.

@starkerz this is something simply amazing. Very interesting what @dan-atstarlite and you discussed on the video! His touring to make the open mic tour to play music and spread the word on Steemit. This will naturally bring lots of people to the platform. It can be something really huge to bring lots of people.
So, his tour is coming just on time with the promo-steem webiste, as to help capture new visitors, and help on sign up process for new users, and help increase the percentage of the amount of retaining for users, and also help in increasing the amount of new users that become active.
Also, I am convinced the 11 chapter full steemit guide will be of help in order to help many more people understand what is steemit and the steem blockchain, as well as know what people do here, and what they can do here, and start thinking of how they can add value to the platform.
Everything is consolidating to be on a point in time, were all this promotional efforts meet together, and one supports the other. In this sense: @dan-astarlite with the openmic tour spreading the word on Steemit hugely, the promo-steem website serving this new users, and the 11 chapter full steemit guide doing the help of clarifying ideas to new users.

Its incredible how fast things move on Steemit. Just as the steem blockchain processed transfers, its a 3 sec speed of light transactions.

that is great. we also in uganda have started promoting campus all over the country. yes, we are few but with courage we can be able to reach to the whole world. i was recently introduced to steemit by @jaraumoses that i did join in his team. we do have a plan of promoting steemit to all universities in uganda and the whole east africa.
