As #Steem slips in the rankings to Number 47 by value in the Cryptocurrency Market, I guess it still leaves one simple question..!!
Since joining back in August 2016 when #Steem was ranked at Number 7, like everyone else I have seen it slowly slip down the ranking and is now currently sat at Number 47.
For the past +20 months I have actively trying to encourage and support more Marketing and Promotional Activities, but there still leaves one burning question and that is "....is there enough Marketing and Promotional work being done?"
If we feel there isn't enough, then what can we do as a Community to put this right?
Ranked No.7 to Ranked No.47
To watch the #Steem Blockchain drop from being Ranked No.7 to Ranked No.47 is a real shame, because despite this drop in the perception of value, I still think the #Steem Blockchain is a great idea.
With so much technical development going on in the background, I just hope that this concentrated focus on the Technicals has not come at the sacrifice of the Commercials, something that I have been extremely concerned now for a while and especially now.
Christmas effect
One of the things that I think may well have a huge impact on the whole Cryptocurrency Market and not just #Steem, is Christmas.
Let us not forget that there are a lot of Retail Crypto Investors that are speculating on a short term basis and these are the ones that may need to sell out to pay for Christmas.
Let's face it, if you only have $500 spare cash and it was all tied up in Cryptocurrency and you had no money left to buy food and presents for the family at Christmas, what are you going to do?
Tell your family that Christmas is cancelled and keep holding on to your Cryptocurrency?
I doubt it.
This is most likely the reason for the drop in the whole market as Mr Market knows this and is always right..!!
Just keep plugging away
I guess all we can do is keep plugging away and where we can keep promoting the #Steem Blockchain and the Community without spending too much money.

My view is that STEEM, as with all cryptos, are manipulated to low prices so that big investors can (and are) swooping them at bargain prices, especially before they go mainstream! #HoldOnTight
I look forward to the day when rather than cashing out of Steem to pay for Christmas, people can just swipe from their Steem wallet at the supermarket.
You and the promo-steem team have done an awesome job with promoting Steem and Steemit.
