Tell Your Son This Part 8

in #promo-steem5 years ago

You know what you deserve, it’s on you to go get it

It requires sacrifice
It requires discipline
It requires resilience
It requires you fighting self doubt
Quieting in the voices in your head
Removing the self pity

Growth & comfort don’t go together

Never have, never will

You with a Bible:
"Well it was written by man, and rewritten a bunch of times, how do we know it's true?"

You with any other book:
"Well this smart guy wrote it, and this is the newest edition, so it's obviously true"

Being Comfortable should make you feel Uncomfortable

Some point out this country’s flaws

And do something to make it better

Others point out those flaws

And do nothing but complain

The same is usually true in regard to their own lives

Loyalty:

A true sign of a persons character

When the bullets are flying

You'll find out who is loyal to you, and in it to the end
You'll also see who was just there for the good times and benefits to them

I'd rather die with my loyalty
Than live as a traitor

You’re too Comfortable:

Comfort’s easy to get wrapped up in

But hard to get away from

Never get comfortable
Always WANT to do & be more

Stay out of your comfort zone
Stop whining about difficulty

Stop wishing things were given to you

You’ll make headway towards Greatness

Impressive:

The early bird gets the worm

More impressive:

The early bird invests time in the worm
Studies the worm
Learns its patterns
Uses it to attract more worms
Invests time in those worms
Rinses and repeats

Moral of the story:

Let your "worms" work for you

Broke people giving financial advice

Is like an obese person giving fitness advice

Don't tell me what you know, show me what you know

Everyone responds to experience in a different way.

Hot water reveals who is an egg and who is a potato.

When you work hard for your money

Giving some away consistently is the best way to ensure it doesn't control you

Two things you can do when you see someone showing off their brand new item:

  1. Envy them for having it

  2. Pity them for needing it

Just like the loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room

The richest looking one in the room is usually the brokest one in the room

You're not fooling anyone
