Are you a sufferer of 'Maladaptive Daydreaming'?

in #psikologi5 years ago (edited)

Daydreaming is interpreted as daydreaming. Surely one of us has spent time on this one thing, and it is very strange if there is someone who denies that he has never dreamed of his whole life. Don't be embarrassed, daydreaming is natural and fun. Hehe. Did you know, I just got lost on the news.gatech.edu site and was interested in discussing about daydreaming with steemer.
There is a new study at the Georgia Institute of Technology which states that daydreaming shows someone's intelligence and creativity. A person who likes daydream is certain to have an efficient brain. Why is it efficient? It is possible for us to get in and out of the zone of tasks, conversations, and songs at the right time without missing a process or any important thing. For example, when we were in school, we must have daydreamed in between lessons. When we are in a daydream, we still focus on daydreaming, but on the other hand our brain keeps digesting what the teacher says in front of the class. When the teacher asks us something that is related to the thing he just said, we can still answer because our ears are still actively listening throughout the lesson. Well, this condition shows the intelligence and creativity possessed by someone. Oh yes, this explanation is based on what I understand from an article written by news.gatech.edu entitled Daydreaming is good. Its mean you are smart. If there is a mistake, please correct it, plukers. Given my normal English skills, hehe.
Although daydreaming is said to be reasonable and good, but the excessive level of daydreaming in someone is dangerous. This includes mental illness or mental illness. Well, for plukers who don't know about mental illness, please read my previous article. Let me understand the issue of the topic that I am raising right now up to and in accordance with the goals of my writing.
If among plukers all often daydream but do not disturb daily activities, there is no need to fear, I make sure it is not included in MD (Maladaptive Daydreaming).
So, what are the characteristics of MD patients?
Based on the results of a survey that I did over the past few years (I happen to be interested in knowledge related to mental illness), there are several characteristics that MD patients show including:

  1. Ignoring a number of tasks or work.
MD sufferers are easily swept away in their daydreams to forget the time and result in a number of activities that originally planned to do, such as bathing, eating, and so on. They are difficult regardless of fantasy and certainly this is very disturbing their daily productivity.
  2. Expressing according to the content of the contents.
The most important and easy to find example is a number of expressions expressed by the sufferer. MD sufferers will talk, smile, laugh and cry according to the character he plays in the imagination. Remember, they do it alone. If you later find a close friend or people around who often smile or laugh by themselves, do not immediately speculate he is crazy. More clearly, do a number of approaches to that and get to know more deeply.
  3. The contents of daydream are usually related to things or events that are pleasant compared to the life that is now being lived.
I know this after interviewing one of the patients who had been diagnosed with MD. He finally openly acknowledged the contents of his imagination. All are related to family, romance, friendship, education and others where all aspects are very contrary to the reality that he is currently living.
  4. Difficulty sleeping.
This is different from insomnia. Sleep difficulties experienced by MD sufferers are caused by difficulties in getting out of their lives.
  5. Withdraw from the environment.
MD sufferers also experience difficulties in socializing, eventually becoming an introverted person and deciding to withdraw from the environment. This is also based on the shame caused by fear of being caught if caught talking or smiling to himself.
Well, how are plukers? Are you an MD sufferer? If yes, don't be embarrassed or afraid. A story with your closest friends or family. But if you don't have confidence in it, you should visit a psychologist or psychiatrist. Remember, as I said in a previous article that mental illness is far more important than physical illness. A person's wounds and unhealthiness can easily be seen through the look, but not for mental illness. Someone who looks happy is likely to have a mental illness in him. If now plukers friends feel they have mental illness, they will be followed up soon!
    I love you all.normal_AnelSN7MaeNvbjbCsmO2nByF9QIeWN03Jfw99178856f6108280fc0eb2a1c5fbb21e2acaded8.jpg
