How sweet would it be to become great just by counting down to five?

Five...four...three...two...one...welcome to greatness.

If it were that easy, everyone would be happy. The truth is so much can be achieved in five second,so in a way,counting down to five could determine how far you go in life.

How you say?

A man looking for a job got called by his uncle's friend. He arrived at the man's company at the time agreed on and was ushered into the office.

There, he saw two other men that obviously exuded wealth. After exchanging pleasantries, he was asked to sit.

He sat there for four hours while these men ignored him while joking among themselves.

This young man was about losing it. Here he was, sitting and staring at the table in front of him and these men were wasting time. Why could they not answer him so he could be on his way? They could continue their talk after he left.

This young man sat perfectly still without squirming for this long.

"Young man, come here." He heard one of them say.

"Finally, they remember I exist." He thought.

He stood up expecting them to commence the interview. He got the shock of his life when he was handed a wad of notes and a sheet of paper.

"Go to that address and get us the items listed."

He was so angry and wanted to speak up but he remembered his mantra...take a deep breath and count down from five. Release the negative energy.

He took a deep breath, smiled and left.

He went to the address, bought the items and discovered he had been given excess money. He had over half of the original amount left.

On his way back, he kept contemplating. Should he keep the money? Would they know the actual amount of those items?

He then reasoned, they were rich guys. They would not know how much the items were sold afterall, they had people who shopped for them. He resolved to keep the money.

Who knows, with the way they had treated him today, it wasn't likely he would get a job. With the money, his time was not wasted.

He got back to the office and delivered the items. They ignored him and collected the items he brought.

Would you believe they kept on talking until he interrupted them.

"Excuse me, sirs. You gave me excess money, here is your change."

Silence reigned for a few moments before they all burst into laughter. Our young friend was feeling confused and annoyed but his mantra kept him in check.

The three men came around and started congratulating him.

"Great job, son!"

"I told you he was different."

"Congratulations, boy!"

"What is happening here?" He asked, more confused than ever.

"You have the job. You passed our test. Your patience and endurance is outstanding as well as your sense of honesty. You are the first man in two years to have passed our test."

This was how this young man got a job that made him a wealthy man.

Five seconds can change your life. Life changing decisions are made in the space of seconds. Before you take that step, take a deep breath, count down to five and think again before taking that decision.
