Grit The Mental Toughness

It's an awesome moment to have you on my blog this wonderful evening as I share with you the word Grit. Yes, some of us might have read about it and maybe watch it on TED video but I will release some little information about this word. Let's get inspired:

Simple Definition

The word Grit refers to perseverance and passion to achieve long-term goals. Some people look at this as mental toughness. Based on my research about grit, I got to know that comparison of two people of the same age but with different levels of education on who will be better educated can be predicted by the word Grit. This is not about intelligence. Grit helps foster mental toughness in real life application.

Before I show us how it helps, lets quickly look at how to be tough mentally.

  • Self Understanding Of Grit

Are you in a business pursuit? Do you have a goal? Do you have what your plan on what you want to achieve with what you are doing now? In whatsoever you are doing, you need to be clear about what you are going after, this will be like a push to your action.

  • Construct Grit With Small Physical Wins

Most time, we believe in an extreme situation and forget about everyday circumstances. until we see grit like a muscle which needs daily work to grow and develop, it will just be there without achieving something. Look into what you can easily consume and then create it. Sometimes we have an answer to the question we have in your mind from a friend but we go further to ask an extra question without accepting the formal. start win small physical wins and from there move forward.

  • Stop Depending On Motivation Rather Build Strong Habits

The word grit is not all about having an incredible dose of inspiration or let me say courage. grit is all about daily habits building that will allow you to stick to a particular schedule and overcome challenges or distractions over and over again.
Are you thinking that people that are tough mentally will be people that more courageous, more intelligent or talented? Oh no, all you need to do is to be more consistent.

If we talk about Grit, we can forget the word Habit. When you know what you suppose to do more consistently and you dedicate yourself to daily practice, it forms your habit.

Do you want to be mentally tough? See from the perspective on writers, they will always want to deliver on a more consistent basis than most. They are not releasing an article, book or journal base on when they feel motivated, they always work on schedule. Look again from the angle of a leader, they are more consistent than their peers. Do you know why? A leader has a clear mission and vision that they work towards each day. they are not controlled by short-term gain/profit, negative feedback or tight schedules which might prevent them from continuing the march towards their vision (they will always find a way). The habit of a leader is to build up the people around them and this is not once but is part of there vision always.

My friend, until you take off that shirk of responsibilities away from you and do the most important thing first, you may not be in the category of people with mental toughness. Wake up and Just Do it.
