Vera Cruz foi construída em 2000 no estaleiro naval de Vila do Conde, Portugal, no âmbito da comemoração dos 500 anos do Descobrimento do Brasil, é uma réplica das antigas caravelas portuguesas usadas e inventadas pelos Portugueses durante os Descobrimentos, nos séculos XV e XVI, tem 23,8m de comprimento e pode alojar 22 tripulantes.
