110 - America the Beautiful - Parte 10

Continuando a série dos "State Quarters", a US Mint começou em 2010 uma nova série de $.25 mostrando um parque nacional ou um local nacional, um em cada estado, o Distrito de Columbia e cada território. É chamada "America the Beautiful".

As moedas serão emitidas na ordem em que o parque ou local foi reconhecido como tal.

Cada ano cinco moedas diferentes serão emitidas, representando cinco parques ou locais.

Todos os obversos mostram o mesmo perfil de George Washington e os reversos foram escolhidos em concursos populares em cada estado.

Aqui estão mais três moedas emitidas, com uma pequena explicação acerca de cada uma.

A primeira é a 2015 "Blue Ridge Parkway" em Carolina do Norte. Tornou-se um Parque Nacional em 30 de junho de 1936. O obverso mostra um pequeno pedaço do Blue Ridge Parkway com cornisos à frente.

O segundo é o 2015 "Refúgio Nacional de Vida Selvagem Bombay Hook" em Delaware. Tornou-se um Parque Nacional em 22 de junho de 1937. O obverso mostra uma garça azul com uma garçota atrás, num pântano.

O terceiro é o 2015 "Parque Nacional Histórico Saratoga" em Nova Iorque. Tornou-se um Parque Nacional em 1º de junho de 1938. Mostra um detalhe de John Burgoyne entregando sua espada a Horatio Gates.
