Puzzle piece brain

in #puzzle5 years ago

I've spent the past two days doing this huge-ass 1000 piece puzzle. That's llterally it. I don't know what's going on here, I haven't written, I haven't done anything of note other than this and I am fucking proud.
Sure, my family helped too, I guess.
They say puzzles are brain food or whatever, help your thinking somehow. I don't see how though. I mean I know I'm smart, but I was smart before.
Actually, I may have been smarter before 'cause I didn't see everything puzzle piece shaped.
Even my dreams...last night, I kept drifting out of my dreams and into this ongoing bigger dream that I was doing this puzzle.
That is literally all I can be bothered to write now.

So, how did you spend your weekend?

I think it might have to do with the unconscious processing. You know, you're trying to create a holistic picture of what's in front of you, so maybe it promotes that type of thinking that happens beneath the surface, becoming more susceptible to its clues. Well, that's my theory anyway.

Very possibly. I didn't feel I'd wasted my time with it, so that's good, I guess :)

In the past I had a short affair with puzzles. I have completed a few with 3000 pieces. I can't say that it made me any smarter. But I think that those puzzles helped me finding my current art style- now I try to create a bigger image from many smaller pieces and ornaments.

That sounds like an interesting idea. Very possibly true. I don't know how exactly they're supposed to help you or whatever, but all those puzzles must've worked someway through your brain, right? ;)

Well I do believe that artist has to be at least a bit crazy. So puzzles definitely helped reaching that requirement ...Or maybe that help was not even necessary😝

This sounds like a nice relaxing rest for your brain, actually. Nothing wrong with that.

What are you going to do with the finished puzzle? Frame it? Or put it back in the box?

Nah, I was just being dramatic. I know it's a good thing, sort of. Except the dreaming that I was doing the puzzle, that was just plain weird.
No way, putting it back in the box - have to have something to torture my own kids with :P
