Review Of High Quality D2 Steel Machete

I have had this really high quality D2 steel blade for quite some time, but have never reviewed it.

I just posted a video of me slicing a coconut in half in mid air. It is most like a very high quality heavy duty machete, than a knife or sword. It’s got a much thicker and heavier blade so is good for heavy duty chopping as apposed to plant brush.

As all blades some are better or worse depending on the task at hand and half the good of a blade is in using it properly.

D2 steel is one of my favorites as it is very hard which means the edge can get very sharp and holds for a very long time which means little sharpening.

This also means it is far harder to sharpen though when you do. One of the reasons D2 is not as common for survival knives.

D2 isalso fairly rust resistant similarto stainless but is far far harder and will out preform any stainless steel blade.

All in all I love this blade and it is very high quality.

I chopped up a bunch of coconuts with ease and can even chop them in half with a single blow. It’s still plenty sharp.

I can say though it is not an ideal blade for coconut processing though it can of course work.
