Oh lovely to meet you @anggreklestari you will love the friendship extended throughout #powerhousecreatives

Thank you for visiting and kind words.

Some lovely shots here Lady Joan. And greatly detailed as usual.
I also like the African proverb!
All of the best in the challenge!
Blessings!

Almost a quick trip around KwaZulu-Natal Stephen, for all the trees I have planted in my lifetime, there should be plenty of shade. Sadly too many trees are felled down without reason.

So true Lady Joan, clearing forests for shacks is such a shame.
Blessings!

Some cool shots I didn’t know pines were so bad fir forest fires or worse than other trees

When I have come across trees growing in Ricky hillsides and such it always impresses on me how resilient nature is if we do not disturb it

Pine trees send seed out in the wind, most big fires over here you will normally learn after the fact that Pine Trees were involved.

On high winds the fires travel at speed, resin and oils add fuel. Little or no water available in the region is another problem, Pine trees take a lot more water leaving local trees none.

Pine tree plantations are used world wide, keeping the seed under control is a problem, once seeds are blown away on winds it is difficult to remove, they tend to grow/spread quickly, are very invasive.

Back when I was NZ and in the army I was called out a few time sot help with Fire Fighting and fire control of bush fires, and helped to fell many trees to create firebreaks I know some were pines, but not sure what other trees we did

Your post and this further info is very interesting and thanks for sharing

Great photos and interesting article!
Something for me is exotic, but pines and oaks are also found here. It is interesting to compare.

Imported from other regions, they are pretty, not the trees fault it is resilient by design.

Thank you for sharing the beautiful landscape and trees of your native land!
Funny I live in a natural pine meadow surrounded by majestic jack pines. It's unfortunate that they are not suited to your area and cause flare ups. It must be mighty hot!

They are devastating here @porters our land should be more grasslands. Much of our natural fauna and flora are needing a lot more attention, a chance to survive.

Interesting to know that those trees which grow abundantly around me can be devastating elsewhere.
I think alot of the native fauna and flora needs more attention around the world.

Just arrived back from Southern Drakensberg many of the pine trees are being removed, sadly plenty young ones growing all around it will take many years to remove and replace with indigenous trees.... If ever!

Nice tree photos! I'm a total tree lover. Trees are such an important part of the ecosystem.

Trees are always welcome, need awareness on what types to plant in our dry lands.

Treebeard is the dude.

Great pics @joanstewart

Agree with that comment!

Really like that last shot
I love it when trees bow over a street
Yes, good reminder to just enjoy and appreciate everything around you
Thank you :)

This is the area we leave for tomorrow, should find some lovely new photo's to explore the region in coming weeks here. Thanks for visiting.

Do I detect a fellow Tolkien fanatic here? Well, I love reading his books especially the lord of the rings(book version).

Read both The Hobbit and Trilogy Lord of the Rings twice from cover to cover, loved the movies made by Peter Jackson later which held reasonably close to the book story line @nurseanne84

First animated movie was a let down by Ralph Bakshi in 1978, well that was just my opinion.

Yes. They do put, I am a bookie so, I love to read. I,however watched the movies and read the books numerously. I have to be honest: I do not want how THE HOBBIT franchise turned out. I was hoping for more dwarf action as the story was really about dwarves. why does it seem like the elves stole the story and, there was a different story line?

I enjoyed all the different peoples included into the story it made your imagination run wild with maps to follow throughout.
