History

Zamindar Acharya Chowdhury established the city of Muktagacha. Acharya Chaudhary resides here on the outskirts of the dynasty. Srikrishna Acharya Chowdhury, a resident of Acharya Choudhury dynasty, was a resident of Bogra. He was working in the revenue department in murshidabad court. He was very trustworthy in the Nawab. While working in the revenue division of the Nawab, he took the arrangement of the Alpasing pargana of that time in 1132. It may be mentioned that most of the Muktagachha upazilas including the Muktagachha city were included in the then Alpasing Paraganas

After the completion of the Battle of Plassey in 1757, four sons of Srikrishna Acharya Chowdhury decided to come to Alupsing from Bogra for many reasons. These four sons of Shrikrishna Acharya Chowdhury are Ramram, Haram, Vishnuram and Sivaram. Before settling down, they looked back in different places of the pargana and decided to settle down in the current Muktagachha area. At that time there was not much habitation in the Alpasing Pargana. There were forests and wetlands around. 4 sons of Srikrishna Acharya were in the boat at the bank of river Ayman at Brahmaputra river

Architecture

Total number of zamindari of Muktagachha is 16. 16 zamindars ruled here. There is a huge gate at the entrance of Muktagacha Rajbari. Built on about 100 acres of land, this monument is unique in ancient architecture
