Reading habit

Reading habit should be natural to children. As natural as brushing teeth or watching TV. Nobody instructs people to watch the television but they do it simply because it has become a part of life and because the visuals attract.

Reading a book however seems daunting to people whose attention span has dwindled a lot. Nowadays, people just might not be interested in reading long essays or even lengthy novels unless they are bookworms.

Reading has its own benefits. What is read by children will stay with them and it will help them even when they become grownups. The more you read, the more interesting the world will seem.

It is not possible to travel the world and see all places but books can take you where ever you want to go and can help reveal the background, the culture and the history of the place.

Books help an individual to gain knowledge and wisdom. It is not sufficient to watch television programs alone. It is fleeting knowledge and will soon be forgotten whereas the knowledge gained through studying books will remain forever.
