Are you alive?
This month I have to fill in one of those stupid forms to prove you are still alive and kicking.My pension fund that pays me has a strange way of doing things. i don't mind but it is a hassle.
I phoned them today and answered the security questions and surely that should be sufficient. Apparently not as I now have to have my Doctor write something saying I am alive and sign it. There should be a simpler way for this process with all the technology we have today. It looks like some things haven't moved with the times yet.
I am allowed to consult or own my own business . but not work for a company as such. This suits me fine as it has given me the freedom to do my own thing. It is not a fortune mind you and is sometimes more of a headache , but I am still grateful for what they do.
This company was the company I was working for when my back went. I was deemed a risk after visiting their specialists. These guys were very thorough , but given a choice would have liked to have continued. I can see their side though and have stayed in touch with most of my old colleagues.
The only form I don't like is the one that you have to prove you are still injured. It was their specialists that advised them and I had no say. It is not something that is suddenly going to fix itself and if I could I would. My view is you just live with the cards you are dealt and move on.

Wow, that is pretty crazy that they are having you do that. I guess they have to do their due diligence to make sure nothing fraudulent is happening but still, that is pretty funny.
