Chocolate sponge cake with potatoes

Hello friends I hope you are well, as I get more into the fantastic, world of baking I will discover recipes with ingredients that surely many would not dare, thought some times in a chocolate cake you can include potatoes, for sure No, even if you do not believe it, the potato gives a very special texture to this cake, dense and moist. Of course, chocolate coverage is essential in this case to finish adding a creamy and chacolated touch to this cake.

Ingredients:

  • Flour 300grs
  • Boiled potatoes 250grs
  • Pure cocoa powder 70grs
  • Royal yeast an envelope
  • Butter 150grs at room temperature
  • Sugar powder 150grs
  • Three eggs
  • Whole milk 150ml
  • Cover chocolate 200grs
  • Liquid cream 200ml
  • Butter 50grs

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 180º, boil the potatoes and then drain and crush them with a fork and reserve them, prepare an appropriate mold for the oven and grease it with butter or oil and a little sprinkled flour. Beat the butter with the sugar with the help of rods or a food processor, add the eggs one at a time and mix well, then add the mashed potatoes. Add flour, yeast and cocoa alternating with milk and mix well. Pour the mixture into the greased mold, do it by spoonfuls because it will be thick, bake at 180º about 35 minutes, until when you stick it with the toothpick, it comes out clean. Remove it and allow it to cool on a rack, then remove it carefully.

Prepare the chocolate coating by boiling the cream, when it boils, remove from the heat and add the cover chocolate and butter and stir until obtaining a homogeneous cream, let it rest for a while until it thickens and overturn it over the sponge cake, placed on top the grid, wait for the cover to solidify to chop and serve.
