My recipe collection of Indonesian dishes in Steemit (and few recipe of typical dishes from other country)

in #recipe5 years ago (edited)

Hello dear Steemians, have you ever thought of seeking any particular post of your steemit friend but it is simply like seeking a needle in a haystack?

That's what I often feel when I suddenly remember of an interesting recipe I once wanted to try but didn't find time yet, however I forgot to bookmark that particular post either.
I couldn't even find my own article that fast, because I have joined Steemit for 2 years and written quite plenty posts before I gave birth.
So I just think that probably other people just think alike.

Steemit-Blog is still not so advanced like other Blogging-sites where one can categorise articles to make new blog visitors easier to find any particular posts that interest them the most.
I actually had planned to organise my articles since long time ago, but just didn't manage to find time for it.

I would only make a compilation of my articles, which are rather useful or perhaps interesting to read again at another time, for example: recipes, culture, travelling stories, social/education/bureucracy issues etc.
It will take time of course, so I'd just do it slowly: block per block, and then compile it.

Today I'd make one category first, which is: "my recipe collection"!

Sample of Indonesian dishes I've made

However before one could start trying to cook Indonesian dishes, one should first learn about the spices and typical sauce used in Asian cooking, especially Indonesian ones.

This is the most commonly used spices and sauces in my kitchen!

Here is the list of the recipes, classified into two groups.
However some of the non-vegetarion dishes could actually be made fit for vegetarians..or even vegans as well. It would taste slightly different, but it's not less tasty than meat or seafood.

Vegetarian (some are fit for vegans)Non-Vegetarian
Pecel (Indonesian Salad with peanut dressing) Sate Ayam Blora (chicken skewers)
Tahu Telur / Tofu (+egg) with garlic&peanut sauce Rica-RicaTongkol (Spicy Mackerel)
Asinan Bogor (Savory Salad aus Bogor) Perkedel (can also be made vegetarian)
Tempe kecap (fermented soybean with soysauce) Sambal goreng kentang hati (potato & liver with spicy sauce)
Tempe kemul Wonosobo (deep fried tempe) Hong shao rou (red braised pork belly)
Semur tahu (tofu goulash soup) Kekkian (shrimp cake)
Tahu Balado (braised tofu, west sumatra style) Capcay (stir fried veggies with shrimp
Bakwan Sayur (Javanese veggies fritters) Bulgogi (braised & grilled beef ala Korea)
tofu roulade Opor Ayam (Javanese chicken curry)
Urap sayur (Javanese veggie salad with desiccated coconut) Sate Kambing (mutton skewers with onion, peanut sauce)
Tempe Mendoan (Tempe fritters) Baked pasta with minced beef
Gemelli with caper, veggies and shrimp
Lumpia Semarang (Javanese Springrolls with bambu shoots)

To make it complete, there must be dessert and beverages too, don't you think so!

Here you could find some recipes for Indonesian style fresh beverages and "jajan pasar" (traditional dessert)

Beverages Dessert
es buah (fruit cocktail, non alcoholic) Kue Lumpur (Javanese potato cake)
Es Teler (fruit coctail with coconut milk) Homemade mango and vanille ice cream with lemon liqueur
Es Cincau (grass jelly coctail with coconut milk)
Es Blewah (Muskmelon coctail, non alcoholic)

I will take a break here and hopefully will be able to continue again tomorrow. See you next time :)

Hey @kobold-djawa, looks like I need some time to go through the good-looking recipes. They sound well. I’ll take some time.

Just take time... There are a lot to choose. I think they all quite easy to try... I have deliberately chosen dishes that are rather simple and do not really need many rare spices. One can find them rather easy in Germany.

Exakt.

I love Indonesian cuisine

It’s very excellent idea that you did your recipe collection of Indonesian dishes in Steemit. This is very much help! So, whenever I would like to try to cook some of your dishes, I can find the recipes easier now.

Thanks so much for sharing. ;)

That is my expectation too. I would try to always keep this list up to date 😉.
Perhaps I would have to combine it with my other blog though. At least temporary. We'll see.

Oh! That'll be great! I look forward to your posts with much interest! ;)
