Mini Doughnuts
Ingredients
For your Donuts:
Cooking spray
half cup granulated sugar
quarter cup unsalted butter
one large egg seven ounces all-purpose flour
quarter teaspoon baking powder
quarter teaspoon baking soda
quarter teaspoon kosher salt
quarter teaspoon ground nutmeg
quarter cup one % low-fat buttermilk
For your Glaze:
one cup powdered sugar
two tablespoons two % reduced-fat milk
quarter teaspoon maple syrup
Instructions:
Put granulated sugar and butter in a large sized bowl; whip with a mixer at medium speed till well mixed. Put egg, whipping well. Mix flour and next four ingredients, mixing well with a whisk. Put flour mixture and buttermilk alternately to sugar mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Snip a small hole in 1 corner of bag. Squeeze dough into prepared donut cups, filling two-thirds full. Bake at 350° for eight minutes or till a wooden pick inserted in donuts comes out clean. Cool donuts in pans on a wire rack one minute. Eliminate from pans. Cool completely on a wire rack.
While donuts bake, prepare glaze. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and maple syrup in a small sized bowl, mixing with a whisk till smooth. Dip top of one donut in glaze; put donut, glazed side up, on a cooling rack. Immediately sprinkle colored sprinkles over glaze, if desired. Do again the procedure with remaining donuts and glaze. Let stand till glaze is set.
