Tangy Tofu

This tangy tofu recipe pair great with the garlic risotto recipe I posted earlier, but I ate it on a bed of greens, pomegranate, and feta with a side of rosemary bread, and that was fantastic too!

Flavorful, slightly tart and slightly sweet, this will be one of your favorite tofu recipes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 block extra firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • juice of 1 large orange
  • 1 minced clove garlic
  • dash of salt
  • dash of pepper
  1. Press tofu to remove excess water, cut into cubes.
  2. Combine soy sauce, honey, orange juice, garlic, salt and pepper to make marinade. Stir until well combined.
  3. Marinade tofu for at least half an hour, preferably longer.
  4. In a large skillet, heat olive oil on medium low. Add tofu in single layer to skillet and cook, stirring occasionally until desired crispiness is achieved. About 25 minutes for the crispiness shown in the picture.
  5. Turn off the stove, but allow tofu to rest in pan for about 8 to 10 minutes before serving.
