Song of the day - Mijn hele leven lang (Kinderen van Kinderen)
Continuing in the theme of what I listen to in the car on the drive to and fro from school, is this stunningly beautiful song from Kinderen voor Kinderen from the album "Gruwelijke Eng" (Horribly Scary!). The piece is called "Mijn Hele Leven Lang" (My whole life long), and it is a song from the point of view of a child who's parents are seperating. Take a listen, you will be suprised by the quality of the song and the performers.
As mentioned before in a previous post, KvK is an initiative by the Dutch public broadcaster VARA to train young talent (between 7 and 12?) and to support charitable children's causes. They have some amazingly good albums (this is the 38th!). I'm lucky that my kids have decent taste in music!

That really is lovely. I'm working on a round the world routine for my arthritis class, and was going to just use Tulips from Amsterdam for Holland, but maybe I'll use this. I've got 3 dutch ladies in the class, so they'd know what it meant.
They might even know the 'band'. It has been an ongoing project for the last almost 40 years, so many Dutch children have grown up with it. You can find many of their songs (older ones as well) on YouTube (Kinderen voor kinderen).
