You should have intelligence to know those who can add value to your life and those who can't. Ability to learn from others regardless of their status is also vital. It requires humility to learn, regardless of the status.
Don't be impressed by how the person you are dating treats you, but be more interested in how he treats those around him, especially people that are lower than him, because how he treats the relationship around him speaks volume as to how he will later treat you when your newness wears off.
Relationship is not just about marriage. A lot of people have that confused and this is why they push away any guy that comes their way for friendship because they feel things might get messed up. Honesty is key and you have to create your boundary. You have to have a respectable boundary that doesn't mess up with your sense of worth or jeopardize the current marriage partner that you have. You need a balance, i mean a very good balance for that matter.
Having a good relationship with others help a lot as your spouse is not to complete you but to give support. Your relationship with others would help in how you achieve success in any area of your life. Don't mess up relationship with people as you are growing and going through life but surround yourself with value adders and those whom you can directly have a positive influence on as well. Like i always say, life is a give and take. You give as much as you receive too.
