Rest 休息

“Rest” is not a waste of time, but vital for the effective use of the time available. When my wife was admitted to hospital though only for a few hours, it is a reminder to us that “rest” is inevitable. It is critical to the health and the effectiveness of the work to be done. Perhaps regular physical exercise and rest are equally important to the health of a person.

One week has seven days. Normally, at least one of the seven days is set aside as holiday, day off or rest day. If a person has been working for six days, then to be given a day off to be ceased from work, it will help the person to be effective in one’s work again after a day of rest.

However, in a busy society, the “rest day” is a discipline to be inculcated. It may sound easy yet it is not easily attainable for many people. If a busy person truly wants to have a rest day once a week, there are steps that lead to having the discipline.

First, the person needs to have the DESIRE to have a rest day. Secondly, the person has to have DETERMINATION to translate the desire into action. Thirdly, the person must practice having “rest day” once a week. Overtime, the person would have inculcated the DISCIPLINE of having regular rest.

“休息”不是浪费时间，而且对于要有效地使用时间至为重要。当我的妻子必须入院几个小时，这件事提醒了我们，我们必须懂”休息”。休息对于工作效率和保持健康具有决定性的影响。或许定期的锻炼身体和按时休息对于一个人的健康是同等的重要。

一周有七天。通常，在七天内要至少保留一天作为假日或休息日。如果一个人已经工作了六天，然后就可以透过一天的假期停止工作，这将有助于那个人在经过一天的休息后再度有效地工作。

然而，处在繁忙的社会，”休息日”是一个需要灌输的功课。听起来很容易，但不少人都很难作到。一个忙碌的人如果真的想要每周休息一天，那么他必须要有一些步骤以达成这种纪律。

首先，这个人需要渴望(DESIRE) 有一个休息日。其次，他也必须有决心(DETERMINATION) 把渴望转化为行动。第三，他还需要每周实行一次“休息日”。假以时日，这个人就会養成了拥有定期休息的纪律 (DISCIPLINE)。
