Retiring from the current job is common today. It always happens when the person has reached the age of retirement. Age is relative, and a retirement can be perceived as moving into another season of the retiree’s life.

Therefore, it is helpful for a person to prepare for the retirement or the new season of life. The preparation in this short article is primarily about the utilising of the time at the new season.

First, the retiree may continue to do a similar type of job but do so voluntarily in another setting. For example, a retired teacher can give free tuition at a centre for the children or students from the resourceless community.

Second, set aside some time for continuing education or learning something interesting. As “learning is lifelong”, it is good to keep ourselves intellectually at the cutting-edge so that we are not detached from our contemporary society.

Third, catching up with friends and spending more time with family is something meaningful for the retiree. During the time of employment, the person might not have sufficient time for friends and family. This can be a make-up time for the blessing of others as well as oneself.

Fourth, this is also a time to explore what people may not think about when they are still young and busy with their works. One of the important concerns is about what would happen after the life on earth has come to an end. If we care for our future, should we not also care for our time beyond our days in this world?

由目前的工作中退出来是颇常有的事情，而当这个人达到退休年龄时则被称为退休。其实年龄是相对的，退休可以被视为是进入人生的另一个季节。

如果一个人为退休後的生活预先做准备是有帮助的，而这篇短文主要是谈及应如何使用退休後的时间。

首先，退休人员可以继续做和以前类似的工作，然而却是在另一个环境中做工。例如，退休教师可以在補习中心为缺乏资源社区的儿童或学生提供免费服务。

其次，留出一些时间持续学习自己有兴趣的学科；由于“活到老学到老”，所以保持自己的智力处于最佳状态是有益的，这样我们就不会和当代社会脱节。

第三，多接触朋友及花更多的时间和家人在一起对退休人士来说是有意义的事情，因为在就业期间，这个人可能没有足够的时间和朋友和家人在一起，所以退休後他便能有较多的时间成为别人的祝福。

第四，这也是一个可以探讨自己年轻时因为忙于工作而没有思想到的事。其中一个重要的课题即是有关自己在地球上的生命结束后会如何呢！如果我们会关心自己的未来，难道不也应该关心这个问题吗？
