Review of the horror film "The Raking" (2017)

The world premiere of the new film "The Raking", filmed by American filmmakers in the horror genre, took place on March 7, 2017.
About when this film will be released in the Russian rental, there is no news.
However, it can already be viewed in good quality on any of the sites that provide services for free viewing of various videos online and without mandatory registration, which I did before giving an answer to the question.
What will the audience see in the plot of this film?
It immediately begins with a tragic scene when the passengers of the car, stuck late at night on a forest road, was attacked by something they could not see.
Survived only a boy of six or seven, sitting in the back seat, numb from the horror. Unlike adults, he could see this monster...
Have passed since twenty years, probably. We see a group of students and an assistant teacher going camping.
They are already without five minutes graduates, they have only to travel to California to learn the history and legend of one mysterious Joshua tree, famous because every year about it in the same day night the monster appears, who, like vampires like to feast on human blood. But his appetite is insatiable, and Woe to him who will be in that place at this untimely hour.
Naturally, young people do not believe in such nonsense, and go there with only one purpose: to expose an ancient legend and prove that monsters do not exist, and on the basis of this to write theses, to defend themselves and, having finally fed up with already studying, to start a new life. Unfortunately, everything was not as the guys imagined...

In this film starring Brian brewer, Cree Kelly, Ellie Rivera, Thatcher Robinson, Marshall Hilton, Marisa Davila, Alan Maxson, Nick Gomez and other actors who, in principle, well coped with their roles. Someone a little better, someone a little worse, but the overall impression of the film is not affected.
And the impression I had is: the Director of the film Brian Brewer, despite the fact that it was his debut, it turned out to create quite a decent movie, quite terrible, although perhaps you may think that the monster looks somehow unconvincing or fearless.
Believe me, when you watch this film, the very scenes where he rages, it becomes really scary. Special effects here a bit, but the plot evolves quite dynamically, contains intrigue, which persists until the most last there.
Of course, each of us has his own ideas about how terrible the same scene, so I can not speak for all. I can only say for myself: in some shots I was really scared. Watch this movie or not, ultimately you will decide for yourself. Those who want to see it, I wish you a pleasant viewing.
Re-watch this movie personally, I will not, I just one view. And it's not because he is not worthy, I'm just not very fond of films of this genre orientation.
