Is steemit too hard?

Even though I didn't post much since when I joined in December, I know the steemit platform well. I really enjoy it, but let's be honest here for a second it needs some fine tuning.

Power up

Ok so I think this is one of the main point people coming here don't understand. What exactly powering up means. Yes I already hear you, whales, saying well #duh, everyone knows what #SP means.

No

When you look at many minnow accounts, you soon realize people have half Steem power (SP) and half Steem dollars (SBD). That is all great and all for people that do grasp the concept of those assets. For the others; #whattheheck ?

#SteemPower

For you guys, Steem power is what makes your upvotes actually count. Your account could be worth 1M$, if it is all in SBD (Steem dollar), your upvote would be worth 0.

RFC

I think the default for new users posts and comments should be 100% power up. That way they would learn how the platform works. Then, if they don't want to, they can change this by themselves.

Power up to raise #quality and #engagement.
What do you think?

as long as the value of SBD is over $1, this will only give a big disadvantage to the new kids that already have so much trouble growing their accounts. So no... I'd say that the default should just be the most profitable at that time. For everyone.

They just don't understand, and since they forget to market + power up, they don't see the benefit of having SP. Plus I wouldn't force it, just default to it.

why not remind them in their wallet to power up? Or something like when you start playing new games. They get their first reward and a tutorial will go through the different options there are explaining the implications. Not really a tutorial but overlay arrows explaining what changed in their page and what they can/should do.

Yeah a tutorial would work, but the problem is the market part before even powering up. Maybe a power up button that auto sell and+powers up?

Totally agree! It took me a while at the beginning to work this out but thankfully Steem was not a busy then so I easily found post to help. Today though the layout is still to basic which really lets the platform down. The structure prevents any regularity with your reading resulting in missing out on your favourite writers. Sorry somewhat of a rant there but it needs updating in order to grown or it will crash an burn! 💯🐒

For the follow up did you try Gina bot? Check it out if not.
