Another runner book review
I still have holidays and time for reading books, and the past couple of days I have read “Ultra marathon man” by Dean Karnazes. It is a book about his life story and how he got into running and running far. It also describes in detail some of his running experiences, like the WSER 100 miles, a marathon in the Antarctic, and a 200 mile charity run. I got a feeling that the guy is a bit full of himself, which I guess is not that strange when you spend that amount of time on yourself, but also that he really loves running. I always like race reports and as these are at least half the book, I liked reading it. Actually I got a bit the same feeling as reading Rich Roll’s book on becoming a ultra runner which I read a few years ago if anyone else is familiar with him.

Nice! I just read Finding Ultra by Rich Roll. Such amazing stories. I love reading the parts about how these guys overcome unexpected problems during the races.
I came across another similar book called Iron Cowboy by James Lawrence. This guy took it a whole new level, finishing 50 iron-distance triathlons in 50 days in 50 different states. Insane!

Dean went a bit crazy in the years after this book made him famous.
I like Rich's books better. They are more real 😀
