Flee! If God Says Flee!

After they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt,” he said. “Stay there until I tell you, because Herod intends to search for the child and kill him So Joseph got up, took the child and his mother, and left at night for Egypt. He stayed there until Herod’s death in order to fulfill what was declared by the Lord through the prophet when he said, “Out of Egypt I called my Son.”Mathew 6:13-14

The above scripture is about the story of Jesus when Herod wanted to kill him in order to abort His mission. For God's will and purpose for humanity to be fulfilled, He directed Joseph to flee with Jesus to Egypt to hide him from his enemies.

They were made to stay in Egypt until all those that sought the life of Jesus died.

Could God not have killed Herod and his cohorts right away than to make Joseph flee?

Is God not too powerful than a mere man who stood against the manifestation of His purpose on earth?

Was fleeing from Jerusalem to Egypt the only way God could use to save His son from an impending danger?

All the above are questions I believe that a lot of people would like to inqiure and have answers for but I believe it is always God who knows best and whatever He does is always right.

It is very hard to understand God or know all His ways. This is because His thoughts are different from our thoughts and His ways deeper than our ways just as Isaiah described God:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

Asking so many questions or trying so hard to find out everything about the soverign God is like travelling on a dead end road.

The most important thing for us to do is to just obey and do whatever He says. What God will would want a man to do may sound foolish but the foolishness of God is always wiser than the wisdom of man. If God tells you to flee, don't pray, just flee.
