James 1:19-20 Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God

A lot of times in the scriptures we are encourage to be careful of what we use our mouth to say or how fast we retaliate to an issue with our mouth. This is because Words are the most inexhaustible source of magic, capable of both inflicting injuries and life. God gave us power in our tongue and by our proclamations things happen, miracles happen by word of mouth, curses happen by word of mouth. We are been admonished to slow to speak as Christians because we do not want to soil ourselves with filth coming from our mouth, for it is said what comes from within soil us more that what goes in for what comes from within is from the heart which is the source of goodness and evil within man.

Listening is a skill that every Christian ought to master, for it is by listening that you gain knowledge and wisdom. Nowadays it is becoming more and more difficult for Christians especially the youth to have time to actually listen. They are always engrossed in one thing or the other and do not really ever give full attention to anything around them. Even in church whiles service is in progress you are bound to find people on their phones whatsapping, messaging or probably checking out an image on instagram or snapchat. Am not condeming tech but what am saying to us as Christians is that we ought to know the times for doing things as it has been apportioned to us according and we need to take time to listen that we may gave wisdom and knowledge for life.
