MANAGE YOUR SUCCESS SO IT DOES NOT LEAD TO YOUR SORROW

Esther 4: 4, 12-16

So Esther's maids and her chamberlains came and told it her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he received it not.

And they told to Mordecai Esther's words.
Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews.
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,
16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

Looking at the focal scripture today, we will observe that Esther who was a nobody and who if checked according to the calculation shouldn’t in all ramification is not worthy for the post of a queen in a land she is not known or family heard of.

It boils down to us as Christians that we are lifted to the post of kings and queens for a particular reason and until we know what the reasons are, we will never be able to manage our success and if we can’t manage, the success leads to sorrow.

If not for the help of the likes of Mordecai, Esther wouldn’t have known that she was not a queen just for the sake of being a queen or for herself but she was a queen for the sake of her people (The Jews).

But for Mordecai, Esther would have lived in unbridled pleasure (1Timothy 5:6). She could have thought that the throne was for self-glory and impudent personal aggrandizement.

Work needs to be done on members who are well placed and privileged like Esther. There is a snare to be muzzled into silence by their fatty tithes and offerings. Mordecai was not taken by that, Esther 4:4.

Esther could have been thinking that the throne will always be there. She may have seen the throne as an End on itself but thank God for the Mordecai because she needed a Mordecai to make her know that it was a mere means to a God ordained end.

Like most people who thinks that they are rich so that they could look down on other people not realizing that like Esther, whoever and whatever there are today is to bring people out of poverty and save lives.

The throne offered her a platform to be used in actualizing God’s purpose and plans for His people.
Some Christians think that their well paid jobs, exalted offices and positions are for self. It is not so.

REFELCTIONS:

Good success is good and scriptural but unfortunately, many do not know how to manage success.

PRAYER:

Lord, no matter my lifting in life, may I never look away from your glory.
