Do not despise the Lord discipline!
AMP:My son, do not despise or shrink from the chastening of the Lord [His correction by punishment or by subjection to suffering or trial]; neither be weary of or impatient about or loathe or abhor His reproof,
AMP:For whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.
NIV:My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke,
12 NIV:because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.
Introduction:
If you are been discipline by the Lord to be corrected because you did one thing or the other wrong never be angry 😡 at it and never question God why, God loves you that's why he discipline you to correct your mistake.
God cannot discipline a man or a woman that he does not love.
Some people may think that God hate them that God doesn't love them that's why troubles and pains comes their way but it is not so, all this things comes as a result of discipline so never despise it or be weary of his reproof for the Lord loves you that's why he discipline you.
Why do God discipline Us?
- The reason why God discipline us is because he loves us and also care for us, so when we are wrong he has to discipline us that we might learn from our mistakes and also be correct so that we won't make the same mistake again.
For example base on the earthly parent
When you did something bad at home, your parents will rebuke you or discipline you (such like flogging you, some may be grounded by their parents )just to discipline the child because he was wrong or because he did something wrong. Your parents doing this to you (discipline ) you doesn't mean they hate you but because they love you and they want to correct you that you may learn from it (your mistake).
If your earthly parents can do this things (discipline ) to you, how much more your father in heaven?
He loves you so very much that's why he can't stop himself from disciplining you for the Lord discipline whom he loves.
That's why when the time of discipline come don't despise them and never be weary of his reproof. Stand still and be corrected and also learn from it.
If you are not a true child of God you won't be able to stand the discipline of God, you will think that God hates you when he is not. That's why so many people who call themselves Christians run 🏃🏃 away (despise) when the Lord discipline them which suppose not to be so.
