The "good life" lacks the power to make us truly happy

Blessings for the entire community.

In the book of Ecclesiastes. 2: 11, the Lord says:

Look at me, then, all the work that my hands had done, and the work I took to make them; and behold, all was vanity and affliction of spirit, and without gain under the sun.

Carrying a "good life" implies prosperity and many blessings in the material sphere. You can have a beautiful family, a large mansion, many new luxury things, have fame, an excellent job that provides financial stability, etc. However, all this may have, but it may be asked: is this true happiness?

In this chapter 2 of Eclasiates from verses 1 to 11, which refers to the preacher, he clearly explains that he built houses, planted vineyards, established gardens, flocks and herds, collected silver and gold and accumulated treasures worthy of kings. No desire was denied, and what was the result? concluded the preacher, saying: "All was vanity and affliction of spirit" (Ec 2:11).

Having all the material things in life does not mean that we have a completely happy life. The Word of God says: "The life of man does not consist in the abundance of goods that he possesses". The Bible also teaches us that "life is hidden in Christ." There is a saying in the world that says: "Tell me how much you have and I will tell you how much you are worth". It seems that happiness revolves around money and all the material things that it can have and gives it fame and luxury. However, the Lord Jesus said, "I came that you may have life and have it in abundance." He who has Christ has life, and not a simple earthly life, but eternal life. The power of Christ's love breaks with all vanity and affliction of the spirit. In Christ it is the greatest wealth of peace, love, joy and eternity.

Our faith in God makes us heirs of the precious treasures of heaven, which will never disappear like earthly riches (Mt 6, 19-21).

Finally, the fact that we carry a "good life" in material things here on earth does not guarantee that we are truly happy. Only Christ is the eternal complement of our happiness. It is the guarantee of our eternity in heaven.

@dali13, onlyJesus is enough in our lives, which means that we can have many things and goods in this life, but none of that can satisfy the soul, because we were born to worship God and if we do not have Jesus in our hearts lack something that must be filled in order to experience fullness of life.
