Meditation: Change your approach to prayer.

Best regards to the @Steemchurch community.

We pray many times and we do not receive answers to our prayers and this, of course, discourages us.
We lose our enthusiasm for prayer and begin to murmur against God as did the Israelites in the desert.

If we pray and receive no response to our requests, we should review and change the focus of our prayers and adjust them to the biblical recommendations given by the Lord.

In Romans 14:17, the Lord Jesus gives some specific recommendations to the disciples:

Because the kingdom of God is not food or drink, but justice, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Keep in mind that the kingdom of God is: justice, peace and joy in the Spirit.
If the Lord has recommended something important to us, it has been that we first seek the kingdom of God and his justice. However, our requests are generally the opposite, we focus on ordering the material and forget that for God the main thing is that we seek his kingdom.

This is the great contradiction between what we ask and what the Lord recommends that we should ask first.
We stop receiving because we don't know how to ask and this is the reason we are discouraged in prayer. Father God knows what our natural needs are (food, clothing, footwear, others). God knows that we need these things, but what He wants is that in our prayers, these things do not occupy the first place but the secondary. God wants to fill us first with the spiritual (love, joy, peace and justice) and then proceed to give us the things necessary for life in this world.

We must change our approach to prayer and adapt to God's requirements.

Sort:

The word says that the effective prayer of the righteous can much, we must perform effective prayers.
