The restoration is to return something to its original state. The original state of man is a state of perfection according to the image of God. At first, man enjoyed communion with God and a glorious paradise, total freedom and continuous joy. Everything was healthy, there was no malice in man. God maintained his loving relationship with man until sin appeared.

The man became deformed and deteriorated completely due to sin. Now he was hiding from God's presence because he was ashamed to see him naked.
Product of sin, man lost his freedom, his joy and intimacy with God, and the wonderful wealth he enjoyed the paradise of Eden. All this was lost from the beginning of creation.

Sin caused man to lead a life of misfortune, violence, disease, war and death.
All this remained, until it appeared who was going to hurt the enemy by the head, Jesus Christ.
In Christ, hope for humanity returned and the great opportunity to recover everything that had been lost since the beginning of the creation of the world.

In Luke 19: 8-10, the famous phrase of the Lord appears:

Because the son of man came to seek and save what was lost.

In this biblical expression, what had been lost since the beginning of creation was the communion of man with God, that is, the intimacy of God with his children. Freedom, happiness and enjoyment of the material that was reflected in the paradise of Eden was lost.

Jesus not only saves Zacchaeus and his family, but he came to give back to man everything that Satan stole from him in the garden of Eden. This is the great promise for the church. In Jesus there is not only salvation, but also complete restoration of the spiritual and the material.
