LACK OF FORGIVENESS IN OUR LIVES

in #sc-v5 years ago

Today, one of the greatest problems of the body of Christ, is the lack of forgiveness. This brings, as a consequence, that the wounded believers, open door to the enemy to destroy our life spiritual, emotional and physical.
What is forgiveness?
To forgive is to release or let go a person who has offended us. It is releasing the person who caused us harm, it is canceling a pending debt that someone has with one; is to make the decision to forgive as an act of will and not based on emotions.
<Even so my heavenly Father will do to you if you do not forgive his brother with all his heart for his offenses. " Matthew 18.35

What is not to forgive?

Strive to forget what happened, deny the offense received, pretend that time erases what happened, ignore what happened and try to forget, or simply apologizing to the offender. Not to forgive is to say:
"I forgive you", but without having forgiven with all my heart. Forgiveness is not an alternative, but a mandate from the Lord. "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."
Matthew 6.14
The lack of forgiveness is a bait of the enemy.
"And whosoever shall cause one of these little ones to believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea, Woe unto the world because of stumbling. ! For it is necessary that stumbling come, but woe to that man for whom the stumbling comes! "Matthew 18.6, 7
Jesus Christ spoke of the need for offenses to come. The word offense is a very special word and comes from the Greek "skándalon" which means trap or bait. This word was used in antiquity to describe what a scion was
curved, a flexible rod with a bait that was used to hunt animals.
In other words, every time someone offends you or hurts you, you are setting a trap or a bait of the enemy to make you bitter and lose your blessing.
We believers must learn to cover offenses, and this is achieved through love. Love covers a multitude of sins. Remember that when you feel offended, not necessarily the problem is the other person, but yourself. What is the root of the offense? ... insecurity and immaturity. This causes individuals to be easily offended and take everything personally.
The consequences of not forgiving

  • It is disobedience to God.
Forgiveness is an act of our will.
We decided to forgive because it is a mandate from God. If we do not forgive, we will not be forgiven.
"And to you, being dead in sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he gave you life together with him, forgiving you all sins. 14He annulled the record of the decrees that were against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way by nailing it to the cross. " Colossians 2.13, 14
  • The enemy takes advantage in our life.
The lack of forgiveness is an open door to the enemy, which destroys our home, our finances, our health and others.
"... for who among men knows the things of man, but the spirit of the man who is in him?
In the same way, nobody knew the things of God, but the Spirit of God ». 1 Corinthians 2.11 "... neither give place to the devil." Ephesians 4.27
«Forgive us our debts, as we do we forgive our debtors ». Matthew 6.12 Many people do not know how to forgive because they have not forgiven their past. Therefore, it is necessary to understand that God forgives the one who Repent
    • Our prayers are hindered. The lack of forgiveness cuts off communion with God and his presence does not flow in us.
"And when you are praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone so that your Father who is in heaven may forgive you for your offenses."
    Mark 11.25
Jesus exhorts us to stop what we do to first fix our pending accounts with the person who offended us.
    • God does not receive our offerings.
Every offering to God is a living sacrifice, and God can not receive a sacrifice that comes from a heart with a lack of forgiveness. This becomes abominable in front of your eyes. Some believers wonder why they do not prosper if they always tithe and offer. Analyze your life and check if there is a lack of forgiveness against someone.
"Therefore, if you bring your offering to the altar and there you remember that your brother has something against you ..." Matthew 5.23
  • God will deliver us to the executioners (demons). The lack of forgiveness is one of the greatest attractions for demons. Each time the demons remind him what the offending person did to him, they will do it to torture his mind.
In the Greek language, the word executioners means "tormentors", who are nothing other than demons. If God gives them to him, He is the only one who can deliver him. Do not let yourself be tortured anymore,Now that you know the plan of the enemy, simply do not accept it, use your authority in Christ Jesus.
"So also my heavenly Father will do to you if you do not forgive their brother with all their heart for their offenses." Matthew 18.35
    • Faith is annulled.
It is impossible to believe God when we are hurt. Faith and resentment can not flow from a single source at the same time. No matter how hard you try, create the Word or confess it, your heart can not act in faith. The lack of forgiveness blocks his heart and does not let him believe.
Love will be annulled. The lack of forgiveness cuts off the flow of God's love in us; You can not love and hate at the same time. Therefore, in a relationship, if the wounds are not healed, the love of God will not flow in its fullness.
Sometimes, you hear some spouses say, "I do not love him anymore," and it is not that he does not love him, but that he has hurt him so much that this lack of forgiveness covers the love he may have for him. The person who does not forgive will always be a loser, and the greatest injuries will not be caused to other people but to himself.
God does not forgive us If we do not forgive those who offend us, God will not forgive us either. The Lord brings us against the wall to such a degree that if we do not forgive, He does not forgive us either. God can pass us some faults, especially when we are immature, but He never lets us pass the lack of forgiveness.
"At that time, Jesus answered and said: I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you hid these things from the wise and learned, and you revealed them to the children." Matthew 11.25

THE LACK OF FORGIVENESS

Levels of consequences if we do not forgive Lack of forgiveness leads to resentment. This, in turn, brings us to the roots of bitterness and hatred, producing a cauterization of consciousness.
How to forgive and forget?
God forgives and forgets. God has the capacity to erase from his memory the things of the past, but we humans do not have that capacity; For that reason, God has to deal with our hearts. Yes, we can remember what they have done to us,
but if we have truly forgiven, it will no longer cause us pain. Forgetting for us means not giving importance to what happened.

@marialara The bible has enough to say about forgiveness and unforgiveness. Perhaps the best known of the teachings about unforgiveness is Jesus' parable of the ruthless servant recorded in Matthew 18: 21-35. In the parable, a king forgives a very large debt (basically one that could never be repaid) from one of his servants. However, later that same servant refuses to forgive a small debt of another man. The king hears about this and revokes the forgiveness he had granted. Jesus concludes by saying: "So also my heavenly Father will do to you if you do not forgive each of your brothers from your heart their offenses" (Matthew 18:35). Other passages tell us that we will be forgiven when we forgive. The lack of forgiveness also deprives us of the full life that God wants for us. Instead of promoting justice, our lack of forgiveness worsens and ends in bitterness.
