WATER OF LIFE

John 7: 37-39
"On the last great day of the feast, Jesus stood and raised his voice, saying," If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. "He who believes in me, as the Scripture says, will flow from within him. of living water. "This he said of the Spirit that those who believed in him were to receive, for the Holy Spirit had not yet come, because Jesus had not yet been glorified."

Physical life has different stages that the human being has to live. We are born, we grow, we reproduce and then we die. The same happens with the spiritual life, it has a beginning, a development and an end. Everyone who has been born again has to go through this process and the best way to illustrate it is through the four rivers that came out of the Garden of Eden. Each of them has a special meaning that reflects our spiritual life.

Source

The first river called Pisón: Its meaning is water eye, spring or new birth. In the Golan Heights in Israel where the Jordan River is born. The water sprouts with great force, it is cold and runs very hard too. By applying this to our lives we could relate it to the new birth. Jesus is that tamper, who made rivers of living water flow in us when we received him in our inner being.

The second river called Gihon: Its meaning is waterfall, waterfall that descends from above to fell with a lot of noise. For example, the Niagara falls, the water falls with a lot of force and this causes a loud noise that can be heard from far away. By applying this second river to our life this is related to the baptism in the Holy Spirit. What comes and clothes us from top to bottom. As it happened on the day of Pentecost.

The third river Hidekel: Its meaning is flowing in its cause, fast waters, that is, when it descends and runs through the valley and on both sides there is much fruit that is the result of flowing water currents. By applying this to our life it is related to the fruit of the Holy Spirit. The fruit is the character of Christ formed in the we. (Psalm 1: 3; 65: 9-13; John 15: 1-5; Ezekiel 47:12)

The fourth Euphrates river: its meaning is copious, abundant or deep. This represents our eternal abode, where it does not open more suffering, sickness, scarcity, death, sin or devil. Everything will be different, then, we will be with Jesus forever, enjoying our home that he has prepared for us. (John 14: 1-3, Ezekiel 47: 3-5)

In conclusion: God wants his rivers of living water to flow inside us always. Do not let the different circumstances of life, the problems, the discouragements, the adversities or problems, dry the streams of living water that are in you. Today more than ever, you and I are going to immerse ourselves in the streams of living water of the Holy Spirit.

The power of the Holy Spirit makes in the realm of the spiritual what water does in the material order. Water purifies, refreshes, quenches thirst and converts the sterile field into fruitful land. Purify what is stained and restore cleanliness; it is a very appropriate symbol of divine grace that not only cleanses the soul but adds beauty to it.

Within you is the source of your renewal, of your restoration, it is the Holy Spirit who has come to strengthen you, renew you, quench your thirst for God, to give you new strength and lead you to the purpose for which you were created. He wants to pour more and more on you the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

The life of man has many yearnings and needs to be satiated, but they seek to satisfy him in the wrong places. That is why Jesus shows himself to the world as the only one who can satisfy humanity.
