We do not believe that the physical structure of the building is being talked about here. In the first part of this verse we read: The wise woman builds her house. We can think of several women mentioned in the Word of God. We believe that Sara was an example of a woman who built her house. She was the wife of a patriarch and built the house of Israel. Could we also include the mother of Moses here? Jocabed. Remember that although she was a slave in a foreign country, to save her son she hid him, watched him and finally became his nurse in the service of Pharaoh's daughter. She was the one who taught him about the Lord and the Lord's promises to Israel. She was a wonderful mother, and so she built her house.

Then, in the second part of this verse we are told: but the fool with her hands knocks it down. And there are several women mentioned in the Scriptures, who acted in this way. Because of their wickedness, the house they built was destroyed. Let us mention a particular example that we find in the Second Book of Chronicles, chapter 22, verses 2 and 3; and there he says: When Ahaziah began to reign he was forty-two years old, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah, daughter of Omri. He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother advised him to act wickedly. The advice of his mother really brought down the house of Ahab to very low places. This is truly a proverb confirmed in historical experience. You can place these proverbs in the laboratory of life and see how they are fulfilled even today. We know several examples of women whose personal sins have destroyed their homes.
