Not therefore meddle with the loose tongue.

And the gossip separates the best friends.

The Hebrew word translated as "gossip" in the Old Testament is defined as someone who reveals secrets that happen around him, causing serious conflicts.
The gossip is a perverse man who raises disputes, and separates the best friends.
The apostle Paul warned about this that we should be very careful of this action of the devil. For, by revealing the sinful nature and anarchy of the human race it is evident that anyone falls into this trap or in the bonds of the devil and of course whoever practices such a situation provokes the wrath of God.

In a book published in 1947 by social psychologist Gordon Allport entitled "The Psychology of Rumors" we are told something really curious: gossip serves different groups of people to cohere together and position themselves in front of someone. In turn, these behaviors are pleasurable, they release endorphins and manage to combat stress.

puts your life in danger.

but how much damage they cause! (Proverbs 18.7-8)

The story tells that one day an acquaintance of Socrates asked him:

Socrates! Do you know what I just heard from one of your students?
Wait - he said - before you tell me anything I would like to ask you three questions. The first is related to the truth, are you sure that what you are going to tell me is true?
No - answered the acquaintance - just tell me.
Wow, you do not know if it's true, no, okay, now the second question. It's related to kindness, what are you going to tell me about my student, is it a good thing?
Did not answer.
So - interrupted Socrates - you are going to tell me something bad about another person without knowing if it is true or not. Let's see, the third question is related to the use, what are you going to tell me, will it be profitable for someone?
Not really…
Well, well, "replied the philosopher," you want to tell me something you do not know if it's true, it's not good and it's not useful. So, why talk about it? Get out of here with your insults and hoaxes!
Without a doubt, Socrates was an intelligent man.

Beloved Church the Bible that is our manual for life teaches us and gives us the true guidelines to walk the path. God always expects his children to be prudent and to attain wisdom before the vicissitudes of life. Obviously our father encourages us to guard against this bad action that is destructive "gossip", but how do we deal with this situation, because I wanted to take as an example the story of the philosopher Socrates so that you understand me perfectly what I want to convey through this message.

Do you know the performance of this great philosopher before the rumors of gossip? - ¿ Do not you think that this man acted with precision, intelligence and wisdom?

¡ And how would you react to such a situation?
Well, I want to tell you that gossip dies or lives- How is that? - Socrates used intelligence to address the situation they were going to tell him about his students, confronted him with a series of questions that reached the heart of the accuser, that is, the gossip, to reflect and internalize that the "gossip" is not the best option for man or his peers.
The gossip arrives, but it dies when they reach the ears of someone prudent, intelligent and wise. I believe with conviction that the man of God, born again, transformed by the blood of Christ is a man who must let gossip "die", then, we should not give life or meaning to the things that provoke the wrath of our God.
Gossip dies when it comes to the presence of a wise man!
You must understand that the "gossip" does not build, destroy, break the soul of those who let feed with such garbage
Let's take care of our heart, let's take care of our soul, let's take care of our relationship with God!

Gossip is bad and we know it in our interior and the Bible argues "he who knows how to do good, and does not do it, is sin" (James 4.17)

@ricci01 interesting reflection. The example of the philosopher Socrates is great and coupled with what the Word of God establishes I think we should reflect on this teaching, then, certainly gossip dies when it reaches the ears of a wise man.
God bless you, thank you for sharing.

Excellent message sister @ricci01
