Grasshopper is an herbivorous insect of the Caelifera sub-order in the order of Orthoptera. To distinguish them from cricket shrubs or katydids, they are sometimes called short horned grasshoppers.
Grasshoppers live in fields, pastures and almost anywhere they can find a lot of food to eat. A grasshopper has a hard shell and a full grasshopper is about one and a half inches, which is so small you would not think they would eat much, but you would be so wrong, they eat lots and lots, an average locust can eat 16 weighing time own.
The favorite grasshopper is grass, leaves and cereal plants. One particular grasshopper - Shorthorn locusts only eat plants, but it can go berserk and eat every visible plant - make you walk where they put it all.
