Hello dear readers.

In this post I bring a collection of information and photographs of precious animals, I hope you enjoy this post and be prepared for the wide reading.

1 Iguanas.

Plaza Bolívar Maracay Venezuela.

The iguanas are herviborous reptiles that inhabit central and southern america, depending on their species is its length but we can see an average of 2 meters in its adult stage. They are oviparous as most reptiles, having a mating season mostly for the beginning of the year specifically in the month of February.

Since they are cold-blooded, they usually go out to sunbathe in the evenings, vital behavior for most reptiles after a cold night to level their body temperature, they tend to feed on plants and fruits, when it is mangoes at least In my city, you usually see many enjoy these fruit delicacies.

Plaza Bolivar Maracay, Aragua, Venezuela.

They are solitary animals, however in times of mating in natural places such as forests or mountains, they usually meet with a hierarchy that denotes an alpha male, some females and few young males. In the city like here in my building, they inhabit in community a great number although not all together, some in trees, grass or fences etc.

In some occasions I have observed when two large iguanas fight, according to what I have read, this shields by territory and by claim of hierarchy, they raise their heads to look bigger and take out their jowls, arch their back so that their spines are visible larger and you start to move in a circular way looking to be able to hit the ball with greater momentum.

Their colors can vary depending on the age, the time, the amount of sun they receive or the humidity of the environment, their most common colors are the green that they use to camouflage themselves with the foliage of the trees and that is more intense in their Young stage, commonly confused with lizards, when we become adults we can find darker greens, brown, gray and even orange in some species, these changes occur due to the growth of the scales that cover their entire body.

In some countries the iguanas are an exotic part of the typical dishes of some regions, here in Venezuela that also happens however I have come across news that the iguanas are stolen to eat them due to the lack of food.

2 Maracanas.

In my building there is a large tree in the park, a Saman that is losing its leaves due to the large number of years it has, in its highest branches, every afternoon at approximately four in the afternoon, two beautiful Maracanas alight that dazzle for their beauty, a plumage of a vibrant green color on their chest and back, on the wing part with red and blue colors as well as on the tail.

They have the most beautiful eyes of a color that resembles amber, as well as their faces are white and without plumage, characteristic that we see in this species and in the "ventrirojo macaw".

This pretty bird that could easily be mistaken for a large parrot, are not very docile, but are looking for much to market and have them in captivity, this situation plus deforestation has caused it to be located (according to the IUCN list) as an almost threatened species.

A curious fact is that like birds like parrots and macaws, they are quite long-lived, in this case Maracanas can live up to 70 years, according to only one partner shares for life, showing how faithful these can be. animals among their species.

In the Saman that name at the beginning a couple always poses, although it could not tell them exactly if it is a female and a male, since the phenotypical differences that they present between one and the other in their species are almost imperceptible, only that the male can present more red plumage in your chest, even then it is not an exact condition in each individual.

These birds are native to Brazil, having their greatest concentration in the deep jungles and cities of this country, however there have been many cases of birds that migrate to other countries such as Venezuela, Argentina, among others in Central and South America.

Denoting its great ability to adapt (unlike many birds) to the climate of each country.
Normally these beautiful birds feed on seeds and fruits, in this case in Venezuela it is Mangos season, that delicious dish, because one of many days, a maracana flew to one of the mango trees and plucked the fruit and took it to a branch to eat it, they are quite intelligent.

3 Llamas.

The flames also known as Lama Glama by its scientific name. Native animal of South America having its greater root in countries like Peru Argentina for its temperate climates.

The white flame that we see below in the photo on the left is pregnant.

This is a hervíboro animal which is quite resistant, during thousands of years it has been used by mainly Peruvian and Bolivian civilizations for the transport in substitution of the horses, its wool protects them from the cold and has been used to generate clothes for the great coat what could I offer?

These animals are artiodactyl mammals of the Camelidae family, yes, they are distant relatives of the camels as well as the genus Vicuña and the Alpaca.

Taking into account that humans are such an egocentric species that we believe we are owners of animals, the flames have traveled around the world like this example that visiting Nirgua, Yaracay, Venezuela, I was able to meet and see for the first time three beautiful llamas, but The llama is found naturally in the Andean region, mainly in the countries of Chile, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.

A very particular thing is the fame of the spitting flames but in reality this is not the only species that does this, the Alpacas, Camels and Dromedaries also perform these oral acts, some veterinarians and ethologists affirm that this is nothing more than a defense mechanism to deter the enemy or any being that puts them on alert, this spit is not dangerous.

Some countries with high density of this species and Alpacas have decided to eat their meat as it is high in protein levels and low in fat levels, thus being a healthy food although seeing these beautiful animals can give pain to them.

I attach a picture with my friends. Llamas.

4 Milk Frog

This beautiful milk frog also known as Trachycephalus typhonius by its scientific name is an extra for this post where I seek that you (which many will have disgust or fear) have a little more awareness with animals, which is the point of these educational post about animals.

The milk frog is commonly threatened by humans because of its vibrant colors it is usually thought to be poisonous, but this is not true, most frogs secrete a slug substance from their skin as a defense method to be more slippery, adding that in In case of being poisonous, humans are not in danger unless these substances come into contact with the bloodstream.

This species is very common in almost all places with preference for temperate places and with some humidity, but it can also be seen in the city in rainy seasons, it extends throughout Latin America and the Caribbean islands, according to IUCN its conservation status It is a minor concern.

Loving animals is not a difficult task, what is really difficult is to respect their spaces and to learn to live with them without abuse.

This little frog was found in the bathroom of the inn where I was and I was taken from there and returned to the immense nature that surrounded the spaces of the rooms, capturing the moment because not every day you have the pleasure of meeting these beautiful animals.

The message I want to leave you, is that we all have a duty to protect animals, admire them without harming them and teach new generations the importance of conserving species.

These photographs were taken by me with my Photographic equipment: Sony Lens DSC-HX20V and Moto E4.

All the information is part of the knowledge acquired during my study in the Veterinary Sciences, together with the help of my friend Wildlife Veterinarian Lopez Ismael in some key tips.

Nunca he sido fan de las iguanas :(

Son bellas cuando son bebes, con ese color verde vibrante, pero cuando se ponen viejas se nota y ya pierden esos hermosos colores.
