Rice and Potato Not Always Bad For Weight Loss

Many people consider avoiding potatoes, rice and pasta-food berkabohidrat- is a threat to weight.

Apparently, according to studies, sometimes the opposite happens.

Quoted from the New York Post page, foods such as potatoes, rice, and pasta can help you lose weight faster than focus on calculating your caloric intake.

Researchers say the food fills the stomach faster, so people will eat less snack and junk food.

Of course this does not happen to those who have a crazy appetite so eat anything despite eating rice.

This applies to people who eat fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, eggs and nuts.

Study leader Dr Nicola Buckland, of the University of Leeds, said many people give up on diet because they feel hungry on the sidelines of the meal.

Well, eating foods with low energy density can help solve the problem.

The study found that 37 overweight women took food with low energy density for 14 weeks with an average weight loss of 5.8 kg.

However, in the same period, 41 other women who undertook a program of limiting 1,400 calories per day, their weight only decreased by 3.1 kg.

Separate tests in both groups also showed they ate 1,057 fewer calories at dinner, if breakfast and lunch with less energy-dense foods.

They also feel less hungry and less 'hungry eyes'.

That is, if rice, potatoes, or pasta can make you no longer want to snack or eat junk food, then this way will work.

Rice is not that bad but I think potato is really bad one for weight loss and one should check its consumption if he/she is really keen to loose weight.
