The new unpleasant fact is that the hand dryers in the public toilet collect faecal batteries and then disperse them in their hands.
It is well known to all that fecal bacteria end up in the air after the water has been released from the unopened toilet bowl. In the United States, a study has been conducted to find that high-speed dryers collect these fecal bacteria and then disperse them in your hands.
The scientists analyzed the plates exposed for only 30 seconds under the hand dryer and the hand of a person who was just in the toilet. They found that the plates treated with hand dryer on themselves have on average, 18 to 60 colonies of bacteria, while in the hands of the person who only stayed two minutes in the bathroom found less than one colony.

The study was conducted in Connecticut. It contained 36 toilets at the Medical School facility within the University of Connecticut. The laboratory produced large amounts of sporadic PS533, a specific but safe strain of Bacillus subtilis. The colonies of this species were made up of 2 to 5 percent of the bacteria found on the plates treated with hand dryers, no matter how much the toilet was away from the laboratory where spores were formed.
"Such results show that many types of bacteria, including potential pathogens and spores, can be dispersed throughout the facility and be deposited on the hands through a hand dryer," the authors of the study said.
This raises the question why the plates treated with hand dryer had that much more spores. Dryers can act as a reservoir of bacteria and their intense blowing simply then creates more exposure to contaminated air. Evidence suggests that dryers can cover your hands with bacteria.
