[Science Trends #1] Now AI is Going to Helpful for Physically Disabled People

in #science6 years ago

Microsoft recently launched their first Artificial Intelligence App. It can turn a smart phone into a 'talking camera'. That is going to help visibly impaired people do such things like scan and read aloud texts, recognise faces, identify product's bar codes etc.

In other hand Ford Motor Co. created a device that help blind people feel the view outside a car window. How can it be possible? Well, it turns light into vibrations that combined with audio description, convey a sense of the scenery passing by.

Entrepreneurs, startups and companies like Google, Microsoft are trying to harness the power of AI to make life easier for physically disabled people.

WHO estimates that by 2050 almost 2 billion people needing assistive devices such as wheelchair, communication technologies etc.

Now a days, with the help of 3D printers and increasing power of home computers it become much easier to develop new products without the need for financial support of governments and big corporations. Now any inventors can turn their innovative ideas into reality.

Thank you.
